TOPIC: Trade item questions.

Trade item questions. 12 years 6 months ago #1

Any official word if boots can be traded towards Mystic Silk? It makes sense for them to be part of the clothes/belts/gloves/bracer category, but the trade token submittal form does not explicitly mention boots.

Similarly, I think I read shields count as "armor" towards trade items, but what about helms/coifs? Kinda obvious, I'm sure, but just want to hear it said.

Searching through the forums reveals that Bottle of Bubbles counts as a potion/elixir/etc towards Alchemist's Ink. Still true, I hope. I have a hell of lot of those bubble thingies...:pinch:

I also found in the forums that Darkwood Billets and Darkwood Planks are the same thing, yes? If that is correct, then the trade token submittal form should be corrected to say Planks, to match the actual token.

The Philosopher's Stone trade item requires 50 units of wand, finger or neck items, yes? If so, doesn't a "wand slot" item include a wand? I noticed in the forums someone said that the wands could not be traded in for anything...but that was posted back in February when I believe the Philosopher's Stone did not exist.

On a related note, do "charged" items such as wands, horns, the Wish Ring, etc need to be completely unused/unpunched in order to be valid for trade-in or to be used in a transmuted recipe?

Finally, what about ioun stones? It'd make sense to me to include them in the "wand/ring/necklace" category for the Philosopher's Stone. As it is, from what I can find I guess the only option now is to trade them for Darkwood Planks.

Overall, can the current trade token submittal form be relied on as still valid? Or should I wait for the 2012 version to come out before submitting any tokens for trade items?

Sorry to not ask yet another question but, has anybody heard anything about Eldritch Dust yet? IE what do you need to turn in to get it?
Thanks!

Yes boots can be sent in for Mystic Silk

Something TD has yet to update.

Prior to the Stone I believe wands could be trade for Darkwood Planks. But until 2011 they were all rare.

I don't believe it matters. But I could be wrong.

Correct

The current form can still be used. The Stone is the only thing not on it.

I will ask Jeff about partially used items, but my opinion would be that they do not count.

Planks/Billets are the same thing. I wanted Billet, Jeff wanted Plank, he printed the token, so... The fact it has never been corrected is a silent protest on my part. :)

Shields, helms, and Coifs are armor. If it is listed in the armor section in the guide, it is armor.

Ioun stones count for planks. As far as I know there is no plan to make a trade item for charms, ioun stones, or rune stones. They all go for planks.

Jeff's verbage on the "slot" description for Philosopher's Stone. Think of it as a trade item for wands and jewelry that has a magical function. So rings, neclaces, bracelets, circlets, amulets, crowns, ear rings, and wands work toward the PS.

You can still use the 2011 forms, I think Jeff has it in his mind to make the forms a dynamic web app thing, but until then use those.

He wont have Philosopher's Stones until the new token orders come in, so you would be best off holding on to those trades until you know he has the new tokens. Messing with IOUs is a nightmare (trust me).

I checked with the boss, he agreed that partially used tokens can not be traded for trade items.

These were some of the issues that led me to do what I did. That is, create a spread sheet that details what each item does.

Check out this post thread for more info and the excel spread sheet.

Where are the current forms? The sticky link at the top goes to the old 2010 version without the mystic silk and other newer ones...
