It saddens me that you seem to have such a low opinion of me as to think my feelings have anything to do with something as petty as winning or losing.

Mike Steele wrote: One of the highlights of my weekend was wielding the Hammer of Foss Altus. It was neat using the actual one-of-a-kind soulbound token of Jeff's. Lots of other great things over the weekend, I'll probably go into more detail later. :)

I was lucky enough to wield it 3 times. (Or should I say fast enough to grab it before someone else did?) ;-) I really enjoyed this element as it seemed more like an old-school TD type of thing to do where the environment has a direct influence on the outcome of the fight by superpowering one of the players who may or may not be a super-power with their standard token compliment.

As far as feedback, despite the weather, it was a fantastic weekend because....

1) The kick-ass venue: So appropriate and cool even the rooms with minimal set dressing. (Can they build one of these in Indy?)

2) The TD staff: As usual working hard as hell and still smiling and good-natured at every turn.

3) All of YOU: In the months between events, I tend to forget how genuinely nice everyone who plays TD tends to be. I don't know why it happens to be the case, but from my very first game wayyyy back when until now, it continues to impress me how generous and fun everyone who plays TD tends to be.

4) There was a little chaos, but it was okay because everyone was so positive. (The chaos also allowed me a sneak-peak at True Horde despite my not being able to secure a ticket.)

After they finish that big hotel they say is coming soon (so they can split the runs between the hotel and the winery) I wouldn't mind venturing back for more TD!

Yes, the Walkers staff was always happy to help, but it felt odd to not be able to just take care of it myself (though I did eventually remember that the restrooms had trash cans available). If the intent was for us to be able to pick up after ourselves (like at a normal convention), a trash can or two in the open areas would be nice. If we weren't supposed to worry about picking up after ourselves, some communication to that effect ahead of time would be good.

First and absolutely foremost, thank you for not being slovenly! I can't tell you how many times I've walked into a coaching room after a group just left and gotten blown away by how much crap the party left behind.

As for this event, I think it's important to keep in mind the Tasting Room is a working bar/restaurant. It wasn't just TD folks in there like it is at Gen Con. If it was a TD-exclusive event, we might have had easily accessible waste receptacles. But most restaurants don't like having trash cans out in the open in public areas. So if Walker's Bluff doesn't want trash cans in the middle of their dining room, there aren't going to be trash cans in the middle of their dining room.

For what it's worth, there was a trash can in the coaching room area and on one of the patios. I wish we could have had more, but that's what we had to work with.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Yeah, I understand they likely wouldn't want an ugly trash can out in the open. But perhaps some tasteful solution could be found.

Or, as I said, a simple communication ahead of the event next time, along the lines of "this venue won't be like most you are used to at conventions, here are some things to consider..."

Oh, and I loved the mug of neverending soft drinks. I don't know if that was TD's idea or something Walker's Bluff came up with on their own, but the idea was great. And based on how many people I saw with them, I think I'm not alone.

You're right! You are not alone.

Most of my group also bought one - although we only filled them up once. And a couple of our group members just bought them empty, and then poured mixed drinks into them. We wanted to support the event so hopefully it comes back next year. :)

One of the first things I did was buy one of those, and kept it full of diet pepsi. Great deal and a great souvenir.

Other than returning to my wife and my dogs, getting back to the real world was a pain. I was at work thinking, "Just 48 hours ago I was in a dungeon with awesome friends, and 24 hours ago I was hanging in the St. Louis airport with Raven, and now I have to deal with a classroom of 13 year olds who refused to do the assignments I left for them. Ugh."

Two things:

Loved the mug.

Haven't changed my mind about PvP, but I haven't lost it, either. I should have had one more night's sleep before saying anything about it. Sorry I went off the rails.

Brad, I think you were fine. If it's not your cup.of tea, that's all good.

As for the mug, I was avouding soda, and I'm glad I didn't think of mixed drinks, but I am.kind of regretting not getting one if it might have helped bring the event back next year.
