What game(s) are you currently playing?
These questions are clearly geared towards gamers…I
am at a complete disadvantage here. I like watching Texas
Hold’em on TV, but the question asks for “currently
playing”. Hmm…maybe I should act like a politician
and answer the question with a question. What game(s) AREN’T
I playing?
Any favorite gaming moments or stories you want to share?
Well, one of my personal fav’s is the year that Jeff
said “Let’s have a New Year’s Eve party”.
I thought that would be so fun, so I got all of this food
ready and then the people started arriving…with their
computers. Pretty soon, “the gamers” (as I like
to call them) were scattered around our place playing a computer
game. An hour or so later, the food was gone, nobody was
talking because they were engrossed in their games, and I
was wondering what the hell had happened to our “PARTY”.
I think that Jeff came in and woke me up at midnight to give
me a NYE kiss…then went back to playing with “the
gamers” until the wee hours of the morning. Now, I
try to get a little more information about his definition
of “party” before getting too excited!
How did you become involved in True Dungeon?
Being involved with Jeff means you’re involved in
TD! As one would imagine, being married to Jeff means being
involved with Jeff, SOOOOO, if A + B = C like we learned
in math class, then that’s how I became involved.
What are some examples of work you have done on True Dungeon
that people might recognize?
TOKENS…I have stuffed bags of tokens, I have sold
tokens at the cons, I process all orders for the tokens when
we’re not at the cons. TD players LOVE treasure tokens,
so that’s the most recognizable thing that I do with
TD. My more demanding work with TD is the behind the scenes
stuff. I make the travel arrangements for the volunteers,
I get the staff party arranged, I do lots of accounting,
I tell Jeff NO a lot when he wants to buy something crazy
(he never listens though), etc. Some have referred to me
as “TD Mom”, but since many of these folks are
around my age or older, it just seems WRONG!
What is your favorite thing about True Dungeon?
OK…now here’s a question that I can answer!
My absolute favorite thing about TD is when it’s OVER!
Oh, wait…it’s NEVER OVER. When we get home from
Indy, Jeff starts talking about SoCal, and when we get home
from SoCal, he starts talking about Indy. IT NEVER ENDS!!!
Actually, as this whole thing has progressed, my involvement
has increased. It’s pretty cool to see the reaction
from the players as they come out, especially the ones that
were skeptical when they were going in. It always amazes
me how passionate the gamers can be about an event, and TD
has really hit a nerve with many of the fans. After GenCon,
the forum is really busy, and it’s nice to read the
comments that come out. It’s hard for me to read the
negative ones, because I know how much effort people put
into the event, so sometimes I have to stop reading those,
but I know that everyone appreciates the feedback, whether
positive or negative.
What’s your favorite True
Dungeon moment or story to this point?
There was this vicious rumor posted on the forum after Indy
2004 about Jeff and I running thru the dungeon scaring people
after we had been out with the Dwarven Forge owners (and
possibly being slightly intoxicated). I’m not saying
that’s true or not, but if it was true, it definitely
would be one of my most favorite TD moments.
So, since that one MAY or MAY NOT be true, then I’d
have to share another TD moment. After Peter asked Jeff to
create and run this thing, Jeff and I went to Indy to have
a look around and see the facilities, meet some of the Gen
Con staff, etc. We were in the ballroom at the Hyatt with
some of the GC staffers. I couldn’t believe how big
it was. It was empty, so it looked HUGE. (Remember that prior
to this, Jeff had done JefCon, and it was in a small meeting
room in a hotel…very small scale) Jeff had walked to
the other end of the ballroom. I walked over to where he
was, looked at him and said “Are you in over your head?” and
he just looked at me and said “Quite possibly”.
The irony here is that in 2005, TD is being moved to the
Marriott because the space at the Hyatt is too small!
Without giving away any secrets, what are you most looking
forward to with the new module?
Well, since I wrote it all, I’m really looking forward
to all of it. Just kidding!
What do you do in the real world?
I am the Chief Financial Officer for True Adventures, Ltd.
and Quick Signs. I also help Jeff with some of the Dwarven
Forge work on their “Stefano Gift” division.
Basically, I’m holding the purse strings! My goal is
to help take some of the “administrative/business” work
for True Adventures, Ltd. off of Jeff so that he can focus
on the creative stuff, which is what he loves. I’m
also trying to make TA as efficient as possible so that we
can continue to offer “True” events.
What are some of your other interests
outside of gaming?
There is nothing outside of gaming! Gaming
is my life! If you actually took the time to read my other
answers, you’re probably confused now. I’m actually
lying…I’m not a gamer, so again, this question
doesn’t work for me. I enjoy scrapbooking, photomosaic
puzzles, and following Jeff and his dungeon around the country.
Any other interesting tidbits
you would like to share with us?
Jeff & I are the proud parents
of the cutest 3 year old on the planet! |
