You'll get my AoW and my RoW when you pry them from my cold, dead hands.

Yep - I admire Redguild for standing on principle, but I'm not doing any runs without my HoP and RoW =)

Well, if you allow Blue Combos, but not Purple Ultra Rares, aren't you going to eventually have a problem with the Orange Eldritch items? They're technically not Purps but since they're even more powerful than Purps, I'd imagine that you should ban Oranges as well (to maintain the spirit of the Red Guild).

There are also some Combo Items which are arguably as strong as lower level Purps (the 4C's come to mind, maybe even the Ring of Frost).

I would like to suggest a uniform for the REDGUILD. I know that the obvious choice is a red t-shirt, but to me a red t-shirt is not that all that unusual. Sure, a red t-shirt will stick out like a sore thumb at GenCon, but it is still not all that unusual. I was thinking that members of the REDGUILD should wear dark pants and a black t-shirt, but that they should also wear a red sash around their waist , much like the one worn by the cowboys in Tombstone. It will not be as bold of a statement as a red t-shirt but I think that it will garner more attention for being unique. If people see you in a red t-shirt they will think, "Oh, someone in a red t-shirt." But if they see you with a long red sash around your waist they will think, "Hmmm, I wonder what that red sash is for?"

Additionally, you could make it a plain black t-shirt, get some REDGUILD buttons made up, and wear them on on the upper left part of your chest. A plain black t-shirt would make the button really stand out. Or better yet, get some t-shirts through Cafepress or Zazzle, just a plain black t-shirt with a small logo on it.

Obviously the choice is ultimately up to you and you could go big and loud to proclaim your group, but I really think that subtle yet distinctive is the way to go with the REDGUILD.

My two cents on a few things:

1. Omg sashes are so cool! If we wore all black we could even individualize how we wore the sash.... And supporters of REDGuild could Display a button or scrap of red fabric...

2. About combos n reward tokens: my brothers n I are going to be fairly dorky about this: if we earned the tokens in the dungeon then we r going to feel free to use em. So no amulet of greyhawk for me because I wasn't playing then. I don't think this will be a "guild rule" though. I like the restriction being NO PURPS.

3. I'll update the member list tonight when I'm back on my computer!

4. Thanks to all for the PMs of support and offers to trade. I'll also update the REDGuild tradepost tonight!!

Take care all!

As I was perusing the tokens up for sale over in the dealer room,
I nearly has a heart attack looking over the purples. Sure, there were
some items there that were worth the $200 or so you'd pay for them,
assuming you'd get to use them over the course of years. But as for
the weapons, the only thing separating a purple magical weapon
from a red one was often a single plus.

The choice came down to either blowing all my cash on a single item
to benefit one character class.... or spend enough money for 2
random token bags to get three +1 weapons (hand and ranged),
some cheap but good armor, and masterwork support gear for every
class that could use it.

Well, it shouldn't take a genius to figure out what I did ;D

I don't really have any purple gear at the moment, so I think I
technically fit into the guild :)
REDGuild

Q: Can I be a REDGuild Member if I have a boatload of purps?
A: Yes, Smak, you can. The only restriction in the guild is during REDGuild Runs we run Red. Certainly people who run other times are welcome to be whatever they want to be.*

*Smak was used as a funny example, he has not inquired about joining REDGuild, was not harmed in the making of this REDGuild Post, nor were any other Tokenholics.

very funny. let me ask this then...does my artifact count for or against? tough call isn't it?

I'd say against, since artifacts would be above the Red level.

But that's my take on the rules....
