TOPIC: Feedback on Token Changes This Year

Feedback on Token Changes This Year 7 years 1 month ago #1

Despite a few issues with some molding of the chips, I think I am very happy with the look of this year's tokens.

1) We added "2017" to all token backs to make it easier to discern their collection year.

2) The URs (and a few other non-collection tokens) have round stars instead of dimples on their face.

3) The resolution has been upped from 300 to 800 dpi -- which looks great even on some Common tokens.

4) The die cutting is vastly better -- so that most stickers were cut almost exactly on center.

5) The graphics on the backs are deeper and more easily seen now.

What's your thoughts -- from those who have received there tokens. Sorry to you Tuesday folks!

Spent a chunk of Saturday sorting through our order. The tokens really look great. It was interesting to compare the new defenders set to the old. I liked the art on the older tokens just fine. But the art on the new ones is even better.

Jeff, I haven't seen any yet, but I'm looking forward to getting some and comparing them to previous years. The changes all sound awesome! It's great that you strive for continual improvement, even when they are already amazing. :)

The new Tokens are great. And this comes from a collector who's very picky about things. The increased resolution and deeper graphics are really a nice improvement. With the deeper graphics the Tokens actually feel a bit more like a currency now. And all the new colors are amazing. Plus, the 2017 and various "Trade X" stamps in the back should go a long way to help mimimize counterfeiting. Awesome job on these things. A+

I agree; I'm completely happy with the new tokens. I especially love the new trade goods (both the color and the art).

I noticed that my URs had a slightly better definition on the stamped side of the token. I only had three to compare, but they were all the same. Most of my other tokens had a small difference in the 'r' of the word True. The art is fantastic :)

I do like all the changes, though they are going to take some getting used too.
Sorting has been a bit of a pain as my brain is sometimes slow to change.
Regardless, the changes are for the best and they look great.

I would say great job too!

I like the different colors for trade, treasure, and bars. The graphics are detailed and great.

Having a long history of being a molding engineer, I would say your molds are better, but their molding process shows a lot more flow-lines than in the past. I also had a few with flash and one token with some plastic damage. They are all usable -- I am not complaining, I am just observing. I also have one where they sort of missed inserting the graphics disc into the plastic.

Again -- GREAT JOB!

All of these changes are subtle improvements that I noticed right away. They look great!

I think they look awesome. I like the year stamp quite a bit, and definitely think the tokens overall are much better looking.

I did get a very miscut defender platemail, but I think that was the only one out of over 1000 tokens.

Feel free to send in the bad token for a replacement with a transmute order. No worries.

Or you might find a collector that collects misprinted tokens. :)
