TOPIC: "As a scroll" spells and spell healing bonus token interaction

I think I know the answer to this, but I've seen some comments that make me think I might be wrong.

What is the interaction between:

1. Spells cast "as a scroll" - for example L5 Bard Sooth Wounds cast off Carter's Tome of Insight.

2. Tokens which grant a player bonus healing from healing spells cast by another, such as:

When a healing spell is cast (from the character card) upon the wearer, the wearer heals an additional 2 HP. Does not affect items, scrolls, or spells “cast as a scroll”.

When healed by a Spell or a Scroll (not Special Powers nor magic items), the user of this item heals 1 additional HP–even if the user and the caster are the same person.

Linked Shirt of Healing explicitly says in TDb it doesn't work with "cast as a scroll" things - but these two don't.

There is no interaction. They do not count as spells cast on the target.

Blisswalk require it be a spell.

Agate Orb is Spell or Scroll so "as a scroll" would apply

I just recall seeing some calculations on the 2020 Key 'o Healing that assumed Sooth Wounds cast off Carter's Tome would trigger tokens like this - at the time I was like: "that's cute." Then I thought: "Wait - that doesn't work... does it?"

Hence this post.

Allow me to rephrase my post as two statements having studied the TDb entries more:

Statement 1:
I think Pants of Blisswalk's TDb entry should be amended to explicitly say it doesn't work with spells cast 'as a scroll.'

Statement 2:
When doing damage calculations for the 2020 UR Key, one should not believe the Key's effect can be triggered by a spell cast with Carter's Tome.

I wouldn't think so. "Cast as a scroll" is TD for
"Can't be modified in any way by anything"

I seem to recall this question being asked before and the answer being no. That said I always felt like it should.

Cast as a scroll spells are not modified by any item.

This is also my understanding. Even things that give bonus to both spells and scrolls do not affect spells cast as scroll, because those things are not scrolls and also do not get spell benefits. Truly, the worst of both worlds.

Cast as scroll can’t be modified by anything. From page 52 in the PHB


When reading tokens, you may occasionally run into the phrase “cast as a scroll” or sometimes just “as a scroll.” That phrase means the spell being cast is not subject to modification. It cannot be duplicated, enhanced, and is not subject to a skill check. We use the phrase “cast as a scroll” because there simply isn’t enough room on the tokens to print all those restrictions out.
