TOPIC: Restriction on Spirit Pet Red Dragon?

I noticed this in the TDb Entry for Spirit Pet Red Dragon today:

"This specific Spirit Pet may only be used if the character has also equipped an Eldest Orb of Dragonkind. It takes great power to bind the spirit of a dragon to a mortal. Without that very potent orb, this pet cannot be summoned."

I was a bit surprised by this - was this there from the beginning?

I’m 99.9% sure it was. The spirit pet is the only difference between 5 orbs of any kind for the Elder ( duplicates allowed ) and 1 orb of each of the 8 years creating the Eldest Orb.

Yep. As far as I can remember it was.

Yep. As far as I can remember it was.

I feel like I have a vague memory of this being added to the TokenDB a bit later in response to the question coming up on the forums, i.e. if someone is using the orb themselves can they lend someone else the spirit pet, or vice versa.

Tokendb says the Spirit Pet Red Dragon may only be used if the character also has the Eldest Orb equipped. So I don't think you can loan just the Red Dragon.

I recall a question on asking about moneytizing the pet separate from the eldest orb lead to that update.

Yes, that's what I mean - I remember this wording being added to the TokenDB in response to someone asking that question on the forums, which was some time after the orbs were released.
