I think putting a stat bonus on the Codex is a bad idea. It's a massive power upgrade compared to the Dragon Orb, which took 8 years to make. You've already addressed the concerns about usefulness of the Codex if you can't get one of each by allowing four of any to be used to make a familiar. Please consider dropping the stat bonus or changing it to a few hit points.

We have 2 auctions going on right now on the forums, Path of Enlightenment Fragment 4 one is sitting at $51 and the other at $11 currently. With no stat boosts on these they are basically worthless if you don’t have the previous years token. The codex on the other hand has a value in of them self, this should prevent the price crashing once people complete the 3 they need.

But you can't use any 5 path fragments to make a MoE. You can use any 4 Codexes to make the new Familiar, so they still have value even if the same number of them aren't purchased every year.

Still, we want there to be some clear communication that the current slotless 8k pieces won't stack with the completed token, so that people at the high end don't feel pressured into buying 2 of each for every character they play/equip.

If they stack, it kind of breaks the precedent that every transmuted slotless token has done, not stack with the completed token.

I support this as long as it’s announced before the 2026 set goes on sale.

Although interestingly the Path #4 Fragments are still selling in the $800 range in Trent's auctions. For some reason Path #4 buyers aren't interested in buying them in forum auctions even at big discounts.

I do like that the all the multi-year ingredient tokens have an inherent value and that there are alternate recipes for "any" of them, that should greatly help demand and value for the tokens in the surplus years.

I'm fine with the individual pieces having bonuses... as long as the final product has each of them include and they don't stack.

My actual preference was that they would have the alternate "any 4" type recipe and not have the slotless bonuses, but I'm OK with the solution Jeff came up with. :)

I'm good with the final version Jeff settled upon. I mostly like that the individual pieces won't become worthless. I would also prefer that the individual codex tokens not stack with the final product, but don't see it as the end of the world if they do.

Allowing the individual pieces to stack with the final Token will drive more Token sales. There are a number of people I know that can afford it. It will definitely amp up power creep though, which I'd rather not see.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I am sorry for not being clear. The art files have already been submitted to the factory for production, so no change will happen now. The three Codex tokens will stack with the Familiar, too.

Hey - also I am going to delete all the power discussion posts here to keep the convo centered on the tokens themselves. Folks will be referencing this post for years, so we want the discussion to be more focused. Thanks.

I will do this tomorrow...so have one last look about! Thanks for your understanding.

Thanks for the heads up. With the decision to stack Codexes with the Familiar, I'm not going purchase any codexes in objection to the decision. I've got my dragon orb and after Ring Con my Mark of Enlightenment, but I have no desire to support slotless stacking of an 8k transmute./
