Part I

Yah might be a tokenaholic if . . .

. . . You give or receive tokens for christmas
. . . You keep a token on you at all times in case you come across something which could act as a good holder.
. . . People have ever joked you'd in Scooge McDuck style swim through your tokens.
. . . You think Foss Altrus would be a good name for your next child.
. . . If a woodie isn't a car, and chips aren't something served with fish.
. . . Your child's first word was token, much to the dismay of your partner.
. . . . You've been willing to have to sleep on the couch for ordering tokens.
. . . . Drug money seemed like a good option for acquiring tokens.
. . . You've taught your children to crawl/walk using tokens.
. .. . You wish you could use Protection from Evil when your boss is around or its that time of the month.
. . . . Your tokens are worth more than your car.
. . . . You've gotten carpal tunnel syndrome for clicking reroll on the random treasure roll generator waiting for your real tokens to arrive.

Add to that awesome list...Blisters from sorting...that is my FAV, oooo the pain.

Also:

You have/use at least 10 different ways to hold/display your tokens...

How about:

Lori knows your credit card information by heart...??

You local mail carrier knows what tokens are...

You think there should be a National Token awareness week!

Most of those are based on actual events. =D

Great stuff.

I seem to only fit about two of those. *whew* Does that mean I'm safe?

Maybe three or four of those if you include sleeping on the couch and that your two-year old knows what tokens are and when you talk about purchasing tokens, she tells you while wagging her finger at you, "Don't buy more tokens! Suckers for you."

John

You say these are based on actual events? C'mon - who could be so foolish as to consider Drug Money a viable option for buying tokens? (whistles innocently)

According to the DSM, there's criteria for an addictive disorder. Have you:

-ever spent more on tokens than you were planning to?
-tried to cut back on spending on tokens and failed?
-has purchasing tokens or spending time with tokens interferred with daily activities?
-do you suffer adverse psychological or physiological symptoms when separated from tokens?
I hope you are quoting from the DSM3R...or is it now something like 7R?

I'm a tokenaholic...proud and true!

Is this the DSM IV or another edition, henwy?

Also added to these critria:

Mere mentioning of tokens causes you to get a body rush, salivate, become flushed, or other obvious addictive symptoms.
The only way you can experience pleasure is through token use.
You would rather spend time with your tokens than spend time with (check all that apply - if 4 of these 7 listed apply to you, you are probably addicted to tokens)
* spend time with your mother-in-law
* go to work
* take out the trash
* your family
* do the dishes
* help out with the kids (if you have kids)
* keep up on your ADLs

I said most were. Not all. ;)
Thats how I protect the guilty. People have to wonder which ones are based on fact and which are based on fun. Meanwhile the insiders to my jokes may laugh or scowl depending on how they take it. =D
