now who is gonna pass up on the horn of plenty to use the amulet of wonder.

Unless we find out that hardcore gets a different mix on treasure, I think the amulet of wonder may be the choice for hardcore.
Question on Radtke's Tinkering Tool:

Does this replace the Masterwork Lockpicks, or can the two work together?

ie, can a person both start in the middle of the plate, and retry once per adventure, if they have both tokens?
(I hope so. After all, what kind of tinkerer would use only one tool? He'd use everything available to him.)

you have to allow the monk to use two of them, i mean just using one eliminates the monks chance of using the +2 bracers of defence. heck i would change the quivering bracers to instead be more like brass knuckles so they could still use the bracer slot

Guess it depends on your sensibilities and cash flow. If ya have the loot it seems like a fun item...I like unpredictability, but if you're to pick either the amulet or the horn, seeing as how I *know* what the horn does...and me like-y...well the practical part of me (all 100%) says no amulet for me.

i hope this new amulet does not replace future special ??? tokens. dont get me wrong though, i will still get an amulet and try it at least once per con, i can always loan out the horn

yesss the dragonscale helm works for rangers. i think the tower shields should be usable by clerics though

I get the sense that by way of tokens Jeff is trying to increase the advantage of playing as a warrior class over us clerics. Still, at an AC of 23, I'm happy with where my defenses are, though I would like the tower shield to be cleric usable just because it would give me something to get. I sadly can find not a single 2008 UR I have any use for. =| ...though the 2008 rares are very nice!

EDIT: actually, the dragonscale helm...I didn't realize it gave a +2 to AC, I thought it was the same bonus as the helm of clear though, only with fire resistance rather than the +4 bonus to will saves...hmmm, that's a possibility...and I still need to get the ROF from last year.

Ergh - now I have to choose between the Amulet of Wonder and the Ring of Wizardry!!! No worries about choosing between the HoP and the AoW - I don't have a HoP!

The Ektdar's tinkering tool is kewl, and a worthy homage. I would guess it would combo with the MW Thieve's Tools.

The tokens look GREAT!!! Thanks for "listening" to my edits!

Brian

Although the new rogue's tool is a cool item, I think I got the challenge down to where I was done in about 100 seconds. Didn't fail once in the dungeon last year, so I'm not concerned about starting in the middle.

Amulet for me.

The Rare's all of a sudden seem awfully underpowered to me. And a bit redundant. Anyone else get that?
