In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

TOPIC: 2013 Best TD yet

2013 Best TD yet 10 years 7 months ago #1

I have played td since 05 and it continues to amaze and surprise me. I had the opportunity to run through three of the four dungeons and they were all great fun, the puzzles continue to be challenging and enjoyable and each year new, honestly it amazes me.
This was my third year volunteering, 2nd as a part time DMV. I had a great time! I was on the golembane side and I was very impressed with the dungeon coordinator for both shifts I worked. She was everywhere fixing problems, answering questions, and still took the time at several points during my shifts to stop and ask how I was doing or if I needed anything - superior work! The entire volunteer experience was great, even better than the last two years and they weren't bad, and I'm looking forward to doing it again next year. I was around Sunday and had the chance to help with tear down, it was amazing to watch it all pack up and to see all of those volunteers helping to take care of something they love. I would recommend hanging out and helping with tear down to any big td fan, I mean you know there are a lot of volunteers behind the scenes but its kind of amazing actually being able to see them all in that big room at one time.

Feedback

I thought the private rooms for the coaching time were awesome!

Carnival style game was a good addition - add more!

The lights in the general area dimmed out over the four days. I love the ambiance and know that too much lighting would ruin the effect but you could see people gathering under the bright spots at the tables to try to see. What if a different light source was worked into the setting like hanging lanterns or a fireplace?

The XP area was bogged down and my husbands account was missing all of his past XP. One of the volunteers said she was having trouble with the system not letting her do certain things and getting bogged down, also adding new players took significant time. I know in the past there has been a computer at the check in area for setting up new accounts. The coaching rooms take some time to go through token set up...if a new person showed up on time they could be statted up first and then have time to go to a computer in the check in area to set up there account. As far as speeding up computer programs or avoiding glitches I have no ideas - good luck.

The adventurers guild was not more than half full anytime I was there, could be it was fuller in the evenings I don't know, but if it was that low all of the time could the AG privilege be extended to $1K buyers or maybe on shift volunteers for their break times?

A food vendor in the room would be fun but I'm guessing the convention center only allows their overpriced junk to sell in the building...if I'm wrong and someone could set up a booth paying all of the booth fees etc it would be very cool.

Cool souvenirs for sale this year good idea - I hope it continues and expands.

Best year yet!
