TOPIC: Wednesday trading at GenCon

Wednesday trading at GenCon 9 years 8 months ago #1

The last few years, a number of people have gone to the Convention Center food court at the intersection of the Marriott Skywalk and Hall D for some pre-GenCon trading.

I plan on being there again this year [2014] around 8pm local time.

Just a reminder: Can't sell anything in the convention center. They get very unhappy about that.

Who gets upset? GenCon, or the convention center, or True Dungeon Adventures? Can you trade but not sell?
My online token shop: www.tdtavern.com

We buy, sell, and trade True Dungeon tokens. We also have a convenient consignment program where you can sell your own tokens.

Gencon/dealer hall does. The dealers pay big money for their spots

Conventions (not limited to but including GenCon) usually have rules against attendees selling things unless selling to a vendor who has a booth at the convention.

In the area that we've met the past years, I will only be trading.

There's little to stop you if you want to sell some place else in Indy.

Not so sure. Does GenCon have a remote ticket station there? Or are there GenCon events held there? Either could trigger convention rules.

Trading tokens is just fine as long as no cash changes hands.

There are multiple food places outside of the convention area that could be used for any deals that included money. If a deal came down to money changing hands it'd be easy to step outside and move to a different location. Or send funds via paypal on phone if needed

I intentionally try not to discuss such things here, because that could put TD in an awkward position.

That is why I said I think

I will still be walking outside for any cash transactions

If you walk across the street to the opposite sidewalk, you are no longer in the convention center.

It's all fine now to do it at Marriot. But before True Dungeon was held there it wasn't and now we at the ICC across street. I just hope that my man, Curtis, the bus boy is still there. Beside they also extend their courteous toward me last couple years. I be there again this year.
