I happened to have a character card from a previous run (though you could just grab any random 4th level card). I had the other (4th level) card through the lanyard. And then I used the clip from the light to clip the Prestige class to the other card along the top.

Problem is they'd probably go missing after a few runs.

Maybe if they found a way to securely attach them so they could not be easily stolen.

Were they removed this year? The training rooms always had skill test thingies for all of the classes.
Blimey!

They have charts but not the actual things used in the test.

Raven wrote: Alligator clips! I want to use little alligator clips for HP tracking next year :)

Unfortunately, they would cost a LOT more than the current paper clip method :(

For reference, I lost my paper clips so often, that I started using my personal clips instead - those little bull-dog clips, which hold pretty tight. I'm sure they are also more expensive than paperclips, but probably much less than alligator clips.

Didn't TD bring in over $400,000 this year? Seems like a few minor upgrades to game functionality could be in order. Life point clips definitely one of them.

But that's just my opinion

Sorely needed is a general meeting room much like what was in the hotel prior to coming to the convention center. A well-lit “Tavern” area, whether alcohol is served or not, needs to be part of the experience. Having a few tables located in darkness did nothing for us. The one year (year of the silver coin) with official trade areas included was ideal and fun and would add even more to it. These rooms were there before TD became the wonder of GenCon, so I don’t see why they are not part of it now.

Alligator clips would be much better than paper clips.

The dungeons themselves seemed to have less “decorations” than past years.

Puzzle and Combat room opinions to come

I just put the lanyard between both holes and tied a single simple knot behind my neck using the metal bits on the end. sure i ended up pinching my self once till i pulled it down over my shirt rather then bare skin, but never had to worry about the card falling off.

and i know those simple clear plastic sliders could be a good addition rather then paper clips.

We could talk to the guys that make the dice rings, and make Life counters with the True Dungeon Branding, make a couple of colors for the different classes (i know this is for us die hards, but i would certainly buy one or two...

I tried a life counter ring and it worked quite well. Unfortunately mine was black and silver and was a little hard to read. Got my friend a blue and silver one and his worked out great.
You can't fix stupid but you can TPK it.

Do the life counter rings actually lock into place to stick on a number? I only have a d20 one that freely spins.

Kirk Bauer wrote: It's a trivial thing I guess, but I had real troubles with my character card falling off of the lanyard. The little metal things wouldn't stay open enough to hold it on there. I ended up tying some knots but that impacts re-usability I'm sure.

next time, try a square knot between the two ends of the rope after you pull them through. it wont ever come out and will be really easy to untie and re-use with no issues.

They lock in place. There is a spring between the two rings that forces them to the outside of the ring.

Oh that does sound very useful. I wish I would have grabbed one at con now. Is this fine to use for tracking in true dungeon, or do the GM's rely on the paper clips and cards as well?

We DMs trust the honesty of the Players on keeping track of their own HPs.

If we had to keep track of Players' HPs that would cost A LOT of valuable seconds in the Rooms.

As to the Life Counter rings...

They are sold out. Because I worked TD full-time I never got all the way through the Dealer Hall until Sunday. When I found the Critsuccess booth and saw they had a Life Counter ring they were sold out already. I asked if I could just get it on their website and he said that was sold out, too. I did confirm last night the website has none.
"It's treason then."
