TOPIC: $8k Super Condensed Auction - CANCELLED

$8k Super Condensed Auction - CANCELLED 3 years 2 months ago #1

Hello! Our group was looking at putting together an $8k order and would like to auction off the excess!

EDITED TO ADD THAT WE'VE CHANGED TO SUPER CONDENSED

The auction is currently at $4670/$6500 (71.9%)

In order for the auction to be guaranteed funded the grand total of all purchases must meet or exceed $6,500 by Friday, January 15. If it falls short I may choose to go forward, or cancel. I will close the auction at 11:59PM on the day that bids meet or exceed $6,500, or on January 15, whichever comes first. Any bids received after that time will be invalid.

Bidding is eBay style:
Bids are sent to me via PM
You must bid at least the current bid + the bid increment.
Bid increment on items less than $10: 25 cents
Bid increment on items greater than or equal to $10 and less than $100: $1
Bid increment on items greater than or equal to $100: $5
The winning bid amount is the 2nd highest bid+increment
In the event that multiple bidders all bid the same highest amount, the earliest bid will win the item(s).
"This auction style rewards early bidding, as you win ties and people must raise the bid by at least the bid increment to take it from you.
Since the price is set by the 2nd highest bidder, you enter your top bid initially and may never overpay."

To bid, please PM me with what item(s) you would like to bid on. I will reply and confirm your bid with your unique identifier, which I will list next to the item(s) you have bid on.

I will update the status of the auction toward the funding goal with each periodic update (approximately once per day).

At the conclusion of the auction, I will PM each purchaser an itemized list of their purchases and shipping cost.

Payment is to be made via PayPal: friends and family. (The total due amount plus shipping is the amount that must arrive in my account after fees.)

Payment in full is due within 48 hours of my post declaring the order funded. PYP choices must also be made at that time via PM.

As soon as I have all payments and PYP choices, I will place the order with True Dungeon. I will provide order status updates on this thread.

In the unlikely event that all payments are not received, I reserve the choice to either cancel the auction OR, place the order, keeping any unpaid-for items (since I will have paid for them myself)

Shipping cost:
$5 for 10 or fewer tokens
$8 for 11 to 150 tokens
$16 for over 150 tokens

All shipments will be either insured against loss, or I will personally refund the purchase price of any items not received.

These prices apply to destinations in the US.
I'd like to avoid international shipping, but will consider it on a case-by-case basis. International shipping is at the actual cost of shipping. Shipping will occur within 2 weeks of my receipt of tokens from True Dungeon (I hope to ship within 1 week).

Just wanted to say, I'm a part of this group. While Noah hasn't posted a lot in the forums, he's a great guy and I stand behind him 100%. Bid with confidence!

So, can you clarify the Rare bag situation? My understanding is that the Rare bags come from TD presorted into groups of 120. Generally, the auctions just forward those on wholesale.

How are the smaller bags of 20 being decided? What's happening to the 40 Rares being held back? Are you holding back 40 random rares? Or are you cherry picking the gold out and making smaller bags from the rest?

This is a good point and one I was unaware of, which might have led to some of the concerns I've been getting PMed about. We've never done an auction in our group, so were uncertain how rare bags would work.

Our intent was to just grab one copy of the things from the 2021 set that interested us (items only), and then randomly sort the rest into bags. I was unaware of the conventions.

Maybe this is a little late since you are taking bids, but had you considered the Onyx option? You’d get one of each C/U/R at the cost of 2 PYPs. And if your group doesn’t want too many duplicate items, 1 each of the 20 URs may be better than 16PYPs. But if you all want copies of the same URs (cough ISPN cough) then perhaps not.

Thanks for the response! Based on your groupings of 20, my guess was that you may have thought the rares came in stacks of 20 like treasure pulls from VTD ;)

Your best bet may be to hold back 1 of the Rare bags for your group and have the other 7 available. You'll end up with unwanted stuff, but it removes any doubt about what you did or didn't take.

Also be aware that the Condensed pack includes 8 bags of 240 UC tokens. You may be relying on those for your trade goods, but just an FYI that it's a *lot* of tokens to sort, package, and ship back :)

Edit: Or, yeah, the ONYX option if you want the full set :)

Noah and I discussed this tonight, and decided to do a Super Condensed auction instead. He updated the top post, but neglected to explain here. So I'm doing it for him. ;-)

Just an FYI. Unless you are keeping 7 Darkwood Plank for some reason, the number in a super condensed auction is 117 and you have 110 listed.

I am relatively new to TD, and I am still trying to understand how these auctions work in relation to my experiences with eBay. Is there a minimum bid for each item, or does the first bid become the minimum? For example, it looks like no one has bid yet on the Googles. If I bid $2 each for 2, does that become the bid, or does it start lower than that and $2 is my max if others choose to bid also?
Apologies is this was explained and I missed it.

There is no minimum bid. If you bid first, the bid is both the minimum and maximum. In your example, $2 would be your maximum bid. Others would have to overbid you at $2 each to win the item.
