There's 120 10-packs, so that should be a range of 1-2.

Not so much.

Note: All Golden Ticket tokens have been released into the wild, so any orders placed after May, 3rd, 2021 will NOT have a chance to receive a random Golden Ticket token. - truedungeon.com/store

Per TD's store, in a 1k you have a good chance at 1-2 URs, but it does not indicate it is guaranteed (as it does on the 2k). That is the basis of that statement and is based on the wording on TD's site, so if that's inaccurate, then obviously that assumption is inaccurate. That math has always baffled me a bit, but I assume they chose their wording purposefully.

I was aware of the GT comment, just meant in general as am example of extra goods, not this isolated scenario. Remove GT and sub in wish ring if anyone needs to to process the idea where my odds go from 0 to 100 :)

I have gotten a 8k order with less than the guaranteed URs by 2 so it is possible. (In fairness there was a Golden ticket in that 8k so I never cried about it being short on URs)

That was my main comment. If I but a 1k solo I own my random UR. If I buy in to this 8k split I forfeit my random URand must buy it back from the group. I'll buy my own and actually own my entire 1k.

Also knowing all golden tickets are sold also removes a bit of interest in an order. But would be fine ordering if the U/R bags were zip tied and undisturbed

That tells me you didn't inform Lori. I've had the same happen on smaller orders and they always fix the discrepancy

I have always been curious why there is that verbiage difference on TD's site and if it's an oversight or actually part of the randomization process that means they can't guarantee a random in the 1k. I know the mix up happens as well, as I had a friend get an EXTRA random in a 2k above and beyond what is listed.

$1K Module Value Pack
In addition to the 120 ten-packs of 2021 tokens, you receive all the following:

Four (4) Ultra Rare tokens of your choice from either the 2021 or 2020 print runs--mix & match as you like (while supplies last). There is a really good chance you'll receive one or two additional random URs in your ten-packs!

$2K “Adventurers Guild” Order Option
In addition to the 240 ten-packs of 2020 tokens, you receive all of the following:

Eight (8) Ultra Rare tokens of your choice from either the 2021 or 2020 print runs—mix & match as you like (while supplies last).
Two (2) random 2021 Ultra Rare tokens somewhere in your order.
There is a really good chance you will receive an ADDITIONAL (third) random UR in your ten-packs!

I mean, yeah, that's actually the reason I like the suggested idea. It's the gamble vs the known info decision. For me and where my collection is, the latter is preferable in this scenario. A different year I might have a different perspective. If random URs I don't want or need drop, I get a cheaper 1k, if ones do, I put in to get them at the price I'm willing to pay. With the total being net neutral, my attempt to get the UR will most likely be offset by the other ones that other folks want and claim. Great thing about it all is that both can be conducted and which ever work better for a given person's situation can be the road they walk down...or they can walk down neither.

Makes sense.

Given that there is no random chance at a $1000+ token with all the Golden Tickets remaining this is much less of a gamble and much more within my tolerance levels.

Given that I want to do an order for a few shirt of the Nimble I would probably just put in the 1k for those shirts and happily take my share of the other random UR tokens as cash back from my investment. Just wish it was possible to do partial condensed and partial super condensed for 8k orders. I'm at the point of no longer needing the Uncommon or Rare bags for any major reason, and they add shipping costs to transmute.

Either way if we get the 8 people I am happy to be one of the buy ins

Looks like we're at 2 confirmed for a 1k and two tentative for a 1k, so a tentative half filled. XD

The other initial suggestion I had was to just assign random numbers and do a snake draft- so people all get at least 1 UR, and the last 1-2 picks end up getting a second (though that can kinda feel bad for the person who ends up 6th/7th pick).

That being said, I do like the idea of trying out the method I previously mentioned to give a trial run before next year preorders to give some practice at removing that large part of the gambling element when making big orders.
