A Season of Giving - American Cancer Society 8k Benefit Auction

The holidays each year remind me of my most amazing single working mother who lost her battle with cancer at the young age of 58. The season was a magical time for our family and my mother liked to share that with her friends. Our house was filled with love and cheer each year as she baked plates of goodies for each one of them. We’d take them around to each house and visit with so many wonderful people. I will never forget what this instilled in me at a young age to appreciate what you have and share it with those that you love.

2021 brought me into a new family of friends with True Dungeon. I can’t help but think it would please her to see us rally around a cause for this holiday season. So in honor of my mother, as well as those who have been touched by this terrible disease, I am holding an $8k benefit auction to raise funds to donate to the American Cancer Society.

In my own typical model I’m auctioning off everything found in a SUPER CONDENSED order. Yes, even the random URs.

I’m not going to rush this one as it’s a benefit but will need it to end in time to get the year end goodies and for me to donate to the ACS in 2021 so let’s end the auction on Monday, December 27th, at 12:00pm EST.

This benefit auction must reach $8000 to fund, BUT for every $100 of the total amount of winning bids pledged, my family will donate $5 to the American Cancer Society. ALSO 100% of all funds above $8000 raised will go to the American Cancer Society.

Remember, this is a charity benefit so consider bidding higher than you otherwise might.

Auction Rules

In order for the auction to be successful, the grand total of all bids must meet or exceed $8,000. If the auction fails to meet the minimum, I may choose to go forward and fund the remaining balance or call the whole thing off depending on how close it is.

How bidding works:

◦ Bids should be sent to me via PM
◦ The winning bid is the lesser of the 2nd highest bid + the bid increment and the highest bid.
◦ You must bid at least the current bid + the bid increment.
◦ Bid increment on items less than $25: $0.25
◦ Bid increment on items greater than or equal to $25: $1
NOTE: All bids must be divisible by the increment in place for their bid tier.


Once your bid is received I will send you a PM confirming it with your Gooey Cube NPC themed moniker. I will regularly update the auction with currently winning bids, as work and life allows. But at minimum, daily, unless extenuating circumstances prevent it.

If multiple bidders bid the same amount, the earliest bids win..

Any ties will be resolved by whichever tying bidder submitted their very first bid as the winner.

This auction will end on Monday, December 27th at 12:00pm EST. however:

◦ If there are technical difficulties with TD forums (or elsewhere) within 1 hour of the end auction time all open items will be extended 1 hour, open to all bidders.
- NOTE: There will be no 24 hour extension for this auction.

Payment is required through PayPal via friends and family. All winning bids will have 48 hours after the close of auction to provide payment. If there are any unpaid item(s), after the allowed time, the bidder will forfeit their items and I will pay the residual and keep the items myself.


Shipping (domestic):

◦ $6 for 10 or fewer tokens
◦ $9 for 11 to 150 tokens
◦ $20 for over 150 tokens

International shipping will be the actual cost.

So far so good! On the second day of Givmas we are over 29% into funding this charity auction. I know there is a lot out there right now competing for your hard earned money, but this is for a very good cause. Remember, I will donate 5% of all the auction funding bids to the ACS.

We've done it! This auction has funded and will raise well over $500 to go to the American Cancer Society!!

And it looks like it may raise quite a bit more given we just started a bonus auction for a 1st Tooth of Cavadar to go with it. 55% of all the proceeds from the 1st tooth BONUS auction will go directly to the ACS.

So what does that mean for the remainder of this auction? I originally had it set to Close on Friday December 31st. Seeing as it's a benefit auction and overfunding will go 100% to the ACS, plus we are entering Christmas week, and folks may not check back often, I'd like to leave it open at least until after the holiday weekend. So we will close this auction on Monday, 12/27/21 at 12:00 Noon EST. All bids will be final at that time. That will give time to collect the funds and finalize the PYPs in time to order.

Thank you all again for making this such a joyful endeavor and I can't wait to write that check to the American Cancer Society!! I'm eager to see what the final total will be. JOY abounding!

I'm so excited to announce that together this holiday season we raised $844.10 which has now been donated to The American Cancer Society in honor and memory of all those we love who have bravely struggled with and have been taken from us due to cancer.

Cancer SUCKS!!! So many of us know this very intimately. But hopefully, one day, a cure will be found due to the ingenuity and perseverance of those much smarter than me. Our desire is that these funds will in some way assist in the fight.
