TOPIC: Making setup for back to back runs easier?

Making setup for back to back runs easier? 6 years 9 months ago #1

My group is doing back to back runs on Saturday night. Is there anything we can do to make the setup easier for the second run? Can we take the party card from the first run, or maybe a picture of it to show the coach filling out the second card?

You won't be allowed to take the party card with you.

However, after the coach fills it out for the first run take a picture of it on a couple of folks cell phones.

Showing the coach the picture on your cell phone should speed things up on the second run.

Depending on how close together the runs are, you may want to check in for the second run at the same time you check in for the first. You will get both wrist bands for both runs.

Are you a full group of 10 with your builds preplanned? If so, you can use Amorgen Burkes Character builder spreadsheet. Or Cranstons app for iOS and Android. Your coaches will greatly appreciate the use of these tools.

You can't reuse the party card, those are collected at the end for various research and archival purposes.

Definitely do this.

Probably not. The Cranston's and Amorgen's things calculate the numbers but show their work by providing a token list. The numbers alone prove nothing - they could be based on tokens you borrowed or traded away, or they could be random.

The apps are the way to go.

Do Two Things:
1) If at all possible, always put your character(s) into one of the approved generators, then show the results to your coach. It makes players' lives a lot easier and it makes the coach's job a helluva lot easier. Do this even if you only go on one run the whole week. If you are going on back-to-back runs, it's even more important. As an added bonus, you get +1 to your max HP! :cheer:

2) If you are going on back-to-back runs with no break between, tell the person at the admin desk your situation. They will check you in for both runs at the same time. It is absolutely imperative that you do this! If you do not show up on time for your second run (even if you're finishing up the first) and you haven't checked in, you run the risk of your spots being forfeited. The admin folk have no way of knowing you're still in the dungeon if you don't tell them.

I cannot emphasize this enough:
Check in for both runs at the same time!
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

This is great advice. The customer d=service folks are great and should have no trouble accommodating these requests.

So if one is doing say 4 or 5 runs back to back, make sure you check in and get your wrist bands for all of them at the same time?

Good gawd, man!

Absolutely yes!
But since that many runs are likely to cross shifts, arrive extra early because they'll have to go dig up the later run wristbands.

And maybe invest in a Stadium Pal .

Can someone post links for the generators?

Link to spreadsheet: www.davidallenkrause.com/truedungeoncharactergenerator-aspx/

For the app search for Character Generator for True Dungeon in the app stores.

Both are excellent. The spreadsheet produces the best preprinted party card. The app is the most flexible if you acquire tokens during the Con in your starter packs or treasure draws that upgrade your build.
