I mean I understand the points and the numbers. But they mean little in the terms of changing anything. All we can do is wait and see what happens. Numbers going up, going down etc don't change the fact that these cons are canceled. We just gotta hope for the best for 2021.

Apologies if I offended anyone. That was not my intent. I am, and always will be, an optimist. I only posted numbers to support that it appears to be making a turn for the better. Again, sorry for the issue this may have caused.

we are having all these death's from covid-19, but after talking with several morticians, i'm not so sure. they tell me that their workload is about the same. I am beginning to wonder if the number of deaths isn't getting some help from misdiagnosis. please add whatever conspiracy you like.

please understand I am not downplaying the health risks. it is bad stuff.

Total US deaths from all causes have spiked since March. It actually backs the idea that we are under-reporting deaths (especially since 20 states don't allow their nursing homes to report covid deaths.)

NC is seeing almost 80% of our icu beds occupied now after only being in 'phase 2' for a week. Our tests returned positive has remained fairly steady at around 8%, but we have been testing more and more so it's just more and more cases. Things are definitely not looking up, and probably won't be for quite some time the way people are making decisions. The CDC forecasts don't look too promising for many states either.

Colorado is in a similar situation. Our governor said it well, "re-opening doesn't mean this is over. It just means our hospitals have beds available for you."

Careful as to which states you watch on positive tests. The CDC and 4 states (Texas, Virginia, Georgia, and Vermont) muddied the waters by combining antibody tests with active infection tests. It isn't clear why they did that but they did it without any announcements. When called out for it, they said they will work to fix the data to separate the two. It might have been done intentionally to make it look like more tests for active infections are happening than there actually is.

I'm a bit more energized about helping with the epidemic after my company figured out a way to better identify where Covid is transmitted using some technology we originally created for tracking sales teams. We're actively trying to get grant money to pay for rolling it out to all US health departments.

Didn't the CDC just say that the antibody tests were incorrect nearly 50% of the time.

Yep. It makes it more mystifying as to why they would co-mingle those results. The accuracy can vary from test to test for antibodies - newer tests are getting better but the specificity rates (accuracy of not being wrong on a negative test) are still outside what would be considered acceptable in medical standards (you want 99+% specificity.)

Increasingly, it sounds like the co-mingling was intentional to make it appear like more testing is happening than actually exists. The CDC then refusing to comment on the change other than to say they are looking to change it back again makes it sound like they made the change to bow to political pressure.

I really appreciate all of their updates. Communication is great. Glad to see that future dates are a couple of weeks earlier.

I know they try to stay away from weekends with Wisconsin Badger home games and wasn't aware that college football schedules went out that far. I guess I learned something. Badger schedule is known through 2025.

For the major conferences it is generally known a number of years in advance as to which weekends they play the few non-conference games before they get into the conference schedule along with which conference games are which weekend and were. Non-conference games are scheduled many years in advance.
