What questions about how TD will proceed over the next few years do you have? 3 years 9 months ago #13

If the remote dungeon works out is there a chance that we could play year round remotely with dungeons that change quarterly? I could see weekend digital runs potentially being a thing.

If digital runs continue, will there be different cards for digital than in person?

Will the “random 10 packs” for digital runs become less random if they do stick around to ensure a basic character for each class and enable players to get the tokens they play with?

If digital runs continue, can we stack treasure pulls and pull at live conventions rather than having you pull for us?

Can we pickup our digital pulls and winnings at live conventions?

... most of my more reasonable questions, like token development, token proclamations, and character card updates have already been asked. Thanks for including our curiosities in TD.

One thought on online runs, if it becomes an ongoing thing, have you considered having digital tokens for that be separate from physical tokens for the in-person adventures? That's what Magic The Gathering does, although I understand there are a LOT of differences between the two. You buy online magic cards separate from physical ones, but you can redeem digital sets for physical ones (at least you used to be able to). One big obstacle for that is I think people would be unhappy if they weren't able to use their physical TE tokens on the online game.

One advantage is that it would be a LOT easier to handle digital tokens in the online adventures. Instead of a Coach or DM having to use zoom or something similar to view someone's token collection, it would be right there digitally. With the time constraints of an adventure, that would be a big help.

Some of these have already been asked, but mine are:

What are the plans for completing the Cavadar series, will the 7th tooth, transmute option and/or event be pushed back to 2022 or will the tooth be made available along with a virtual event?

How will consumable tokens be handled if all events are virtual for the foreseeable future?

Will the potential character redesign make more use of INT, WIS and CHA which are currently very specific in how they are used and how many tokens interact with them?

Are there any plans to introduce a cap on how much treasure players can earn per session in order to prevent a widening treasure gap between new and experienced players?

Are there any plans for the older recipe ingredients and transmute windows to be made available again?

What are your current thoughts on how a possible 2021 set will be handled?

If virtual is going to be the way forward for TD, will this continue as lockdown measures ease and if so is there any possibility of TD expanding to run virtual events at overseas conventions?

Have you ever considered running "challenge events" where players are restricted to only use tokens of a specific rarity or lower? It seems like a fun way to explore the wider token pool without detracting from the majority of events being open to all builds.

Biggest question from the members of the Blue Brothrhood is about the "special event" in 2021 using the completed Teeth of Cavadar item. Is it still happening? If not, what is the plan?

Will there be XP for virtual dungeons? And if so, will that XP be exclusive or will it be available at a live event in the future?

My questions so far are:

What is the plan for the teeth?

Is there going to be a cap on treasure?

Has the plan for TE development changed? If so how?

What is your succession plan, Jeff? (As you pointed out you are not a spring chicken anymore and if TD is going to continue at some point someone else will need to take over.)

When will development begin on WIS, INT, & CHA modifications?

What is the plan for 2021 token development.

Will the 2020 season get pushed out to 2021?

Is there going to be an extension on 2020/2019 transmutes?

I'm going to take a detour from the current path of questions.

The Kingkiller related dungeons were among my favorites of all time. The Underthing getting delayed was sad to hear (but hopefully means Rothfuss's people are watching external events closely due to a new book)(one could hope.)

The Underthing sounded like it would be a great deal of fun and there is so much out there in the Rothfuss-verse that is worthy to explore.

With this year's adventures likely being pushed into next year, I hope that doesn't push back more in that world further from TD. I know the delay away from this year was from Rothfuss's camp, not yours. Even if it means delaying a currently built adventure - I would love so see the Underthing when you are allowed to do it.

When do you think you'll be able to revisit the Kingkiller Chronicle worlds again?

Is there a chance of more wooden tokens? Maybe a special set like another Artisan Token set, or one that reprints in wooden form some popular chip tokens? :)

Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?

Fred brings up a good question, is there a chance the king killer comes next year assuming some semblance of older normal.

This is something I was wondering as well. My guess is that many of the folks who invested heavily in tokens in order to transmute a Charm of Avarice (or more than one) did so in the hopes of doing multiple runs with it. If Virtual Runs are going to be in limited supply, it would be rude to run multiple times just for treasure... but could be a possible source of income for TD to allow some sort of “treasure -only” ticket (even if it’s a limited time offer.)

I am also curious about the possibility of TD including Virtual Runs (or a Virtual Convention) as a regular feature, to allow folks to participate from around the world on a more regular basis.
