TOPIC: Skull Con Clarification Requested

Skull Con Clarification Requested 2 years 4 months ago #1

Hi Jeff,

Can you clarify if someone needs to show their Skull just at registration, or also before their run and possibly at other times during Skull Con? I'm hoping it's the former, because then someone loaning /selling Skull admission to someone only has to be with the person attending at registration and then the person would use their name badge throughout Skull Con for verification. If it's the latter, then the person probably needs to be in possession of the Skull for the weekend, making it more problematic to loan or sell extra Skull access to others. It seems like the former should be sufficient, as the name badge from registration should make sure each Skull is only used once.

This reply you made in the locked thread made it sound like you only needed to show the Skull once, at Registration, and only the badge and ID needed to be shown before the run: " Thanks for the clarifying question. Each person checking into Skull Con must check-in in person -- and present ID at the time. Also, in Coaching during the two-hour event, each person must show their named badge and the ID again to the Coach. We must go through this whole process because gamers gotta me gamers! ;) "

However, these Q&A say you have to physically have and show the Skull before the run and maybe at other times as well:

Q: Once we get our Skull Con badge, will we ever have to show our Skull of Cavadar token again or will our badge suffice?
A: You need to show and validate your Skull of Cavadar token at badge pickup and before your run. If there are other activities centered around the Skull of Cavadar, you may need to present it at those events as well.

Q: Is TD okay with us selling/leasing/loaning extra Skull Con access?
A: Yes. But bear in mind that you're providing them a badge for the entire weekend and the recipient MUST have a valid Skull of Cavadar token in their possession.

Since you have to show the Skull at registration to get your name badge, why isn't the name badge and ID sufficient for verification before the run without also needing to show the Skull again?

Thanks!
Mike

Thanks for the clarifying question.

The Skull token will have to be shown and scanned at registration only. It won't be needed at other times.

At the start of your 2-hour adventure, you will have to show your badge and ID to the Coach to verify you match the name on the ticket.

Thanks, Jeff! That's great news! :)

Maybe the Skull Con Q&A could be updated to reflect that the Skull only needs to be shown at Registration?
