Hi Jeff,

Just a few thoughts to consider about not locking in a Saint power on each Mark.

#1. Is it going to cause problems with the character generator programs to have the variability? Hopefully they can be set to pick one of the 10.

#2. Is it going to cause more complexity in the Coaching and Dungeon rooms? It seems like the static part of the ability can be added to the party card, but is the Coach and/or DM going to have to have all 10 memorized since they won't be on the token?

For the app piece of it, you will likely set it the same way that you set them now for Orb of Dragonkind or any other token with a choice. You equip the token with the saints name on it you choose. They already have to program all 10 in it anyway so nothing would change from going from one to another each dungeon.

In regards to the app, it looks like it is already being setup in the Website TDCC (although is the older versions)

I agree with the sentiment of "Yes and"ing this modular power.

I suggest that we go back to crafting a specific Saints mark, you will have that Saint's power for free but we also give each Saint the following power:
"You may make an offering of a 1k GP Bar (give a 1k GP Bar) to a fellow non-Saint player to obtain the powers of another of the 10 Saints for the adventure instead of your own."

For the character creators, I'd recommend that there should be no special programming for a Saint having another's power, but instead direct people to equip the token of the Saint whose powers they are using for the Adventure in the app.

Edit: To preempt the question of "Can I use this effect when all players in my run have a Mark of Enlightenment" the text does NOT say the player you make an offering to needs to be in your run. I would imagine it would work exactly like the honor system we have for consumables for VTD.

Second edit: I also want to point out that I think folks missed wording in Jeff's original post. It was not turn in gold to TD, it was offer it to another (non-saint) player. Which I think is wonderfully thematic!

I saw the wording, but I still think it would be rough for a $6000 token to have a constant ~$10-15 usage. That would be hundreds of dollars a year for a basic player like me, and probably another $6000 for Dave/Mongo alone :-). I think a non-mandatory donation to a new player would be more thematic if we are thinking along the lines of Saints and followers.

I just can't. I'll sleep on this, but my feelings right now are that my fragments are for sale if this sticks. I'll gladly take 1000gp donations from people who want to use theirs.

I really like this idea. It strikes a balance that appeals to me between picking a saint and still allowing access to the other powers. I can select the power I expect to use the most, or just like the most and use it with no recurring cost, but when I slot into a pick-up group or something and need to use another power, that power is available to me and I get to give a gift when so doing.

+1 This is a good compromise solution. Gift the 1K to a non-saint player in order to change powers.

I like the idea of picking a default power that can be used any time, but being able to make a sacrifice to temporarily switch powers. Builds in some flexibility.

Although I have a good stash of gold, I don’t like having to use 1k each game to use a token that already costs a lot to get to begin with especially since the effects of some have gotten nerfed with the 1/game effects. On my vtd weekends I would go through a good 5-10 which could add up to an additional $100-$120 on current market GP rates. If those go up then the cost of its use goes up. I do like the idea of being able to choose and it not be stuck as one, but am also sad about some such as + melee dmg went from + 5 to + 3.
