Quick shout out to Don, the training room coach for our Thu 14:48 N1 journey to bliss run. Very energetic and gave everyone perfect advice to survive the dungeon. Want to make sure he gets recognized!

Also had don and he was great. He was the only coach who really gave a complete run down for new players in our runs.

A few things:
-explained combat rotation for new players, e.g., line up, slide, and move out of the way; don’t sit and watch the puck
-suggested an order for sliders based on accuracy and ability to call board as fast or slow
-reminded casters that skill checks are nice but missing isn’t the end of the world; speed is more important
-reminded us that teamwork wins puzzles (if only our group would have listened!)
-just basically enthusiastic and set the right tone for the run

Edit: basically all advice available on this forum that doesn’t get said much in the training room. Tricks experienced players know that really help newbies.

There's one other big thing Don does. He tells you his name. So you know who to say did a great job as your trainer.

They say that the best weapon is the one you never have to use. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to use once! Oh - and if you really need to think about whether you're going to use the fireball or the + umpty staff of butt-whooping - you're likely to find yourself full of arrows, or fangs, or nasty knives & swords and such. Don't think - just shoot!

don IS awesome. I remember him from my first year. he really made the lead-in to the adventure come together in a way that is extremely helpful for new people (it was for me). his explanations are insightful and if you have trouble understanding something, he is quick to come at it from another angle (time crunch). his dedication and enthusiasm is top notch.

don is most definitely "Patron of True Dungeon".
