Not sure what you mean by “chase,” but I don’t know whether anyone mentioned the Medallions are soulbound. I think all GT bonuses are, except the Cogs which were tradable, but only for another Cog. So, semi-soulbound.

But you know that, so you probably meant sometime else.

i understand the permanent effect is not very powerfyl (except those that slide a 20) but it is odd to me that we had one year of Gen Con only bonus (baby beholder) and then a season long bonus (the daggers) and now back to permanent ones (again even if not very powerful).

Personally, I prefer something permanent, good or not.

On the other hand, I was very sad I didn’t get a baby beholder until I learned it had an expiration date. That mitigated my abject despair a bit.

So I prefer permanent when I get it, and temporary when I don’t.

You're right they are soul bonded (or at any rate have the holders name written on them).

I just meant "I can start rolling the dice on GT runs as a way to someday get a permanent player bonus" - I thought those days had gone the way of the Dodo.

2008 was permanent ( depending on the card you drew). 2013 was permanent. 2018 was depending how you slid

So I don’t know why people are worried.

2018 has a permanent affect no matter how you slid. It just has a powerful affect if you slid well.

Very fair. If I had one, I likely would forget the damage reduction anyway (as I do with most of the damage reduction I have).

What do you mean the baby beholders weren't permanent. Mine still travels with me on all my runs. :)

Question, could you add a class specific weapon like say the rod of persuasion which wouldn't effect the party card so long as it wasn't equipped as a weapon to access the secondary power with a class that normally couldn't use it. Or failing that the tinkering tool. I assume the answers is no but that's the way my mind works so I figured it was better to ask.

Sartre sits in in a coffee shop and asks for a coffee without cream. The barista apologizes “Sorry, we don't have any cream. Can I offer you a coffee without milk instead?”

I would say no, the medallion does not bestow the power to equip tokens your class couldn't normally equip - just to equip an extra token your class can.
