I support the idea but you should write the owners of GHC.

Thanks

Earliest measurable snow in Madison - October 6th
Earliest trace of snow - September 28.

It's Wisconsin. Deal with it.

I'd rather walk in snow than near freezing rain. When can you guarantee me snow? ;)

Much as i'm not fond of driving in the freezing white stuff, i rather walk in it. Remember the rain at TDC wasn't exactly pleasant when walking between buildings.

Would that be the time you called Angel and I out for being lazy since i drove across the street to the convention center ? :P

Does the convention center offer any sort of coat check? I need to see if i can stuff a real/winter coat in my con bag, hasn't exactly been needed before...

I hear that in keeping with the Nordic theme Jeff will be keeping the loading dock doors open. Bundle up. ;)

In 2016 Madison didn't have snow until December 4th. So something like that.

The more snow the less likely people
Are going to want to drive there and Madison is not cheap to fly to.
I will talk to someone, at least the guy
That I pick up my badge from.
It’s not GC, so I’m sure if not one of the
Owners he at least knows them quite well
And can pass along the Idea.

Let’s see there is Wisconsin football. If that’s the same weekend hotels will
Be
Higher

Oh
And
There are concerts and other things at the convention center.

I believe they looked into it. It fluctuates yearly because of
Football. They want to
Keep
The costs
Down

Yes - if this was a weekend when the Badgers were playing in town, there would be way less hotel availability.

Gamehole has grown every year since inception, and the last few years have seen explosive attendance growth (and with that, con space growth has followed). Most people aren't deterred by the weather.

Also.
if it's above 30, it's shorts weather, y'all.

30? Hah, when my son was in high school 20 was shorts, flip flops and no coat weather.

I may be biased, but I would attribute the recent explosive attendance growth to TD.

The reason for shorts is because of how hot people keep the inside when it's cold outside. A little cold when going in is worth it to me to be completely comfortable all day inside.

TD was a big jump, but they had expanded from the Sheraton to convention center, the year before TD was there. So they were expanding. It is one of the best run cons. easy to get a badge. easy to get tickets. no server errors etc.

Having attended every year since TD started there I'd say all of the above plus a much more casual environment and access to the guests. In fact, Patrick Rothfuss is usually walking around and this year my pal Mike Wittwer will be there promoting his awesome book "Dungeons & Dragons: Art and Arcana." https://www.amazon.com/Dungeons-Dragons-Art-Arcana-History/dp/0399580948/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1540918721&sr=8-2&keywords=art+and+arcana

Well, the airport in Madison closes. I didn't know that. So I ended up sleeping in a stairwell in the parking garage.

Madison is cold. So very cold.

I have a spare bedroom if any of you're stuck please don't sleeping a stairwell please call.
