Keep in mind that we did 3 + retro in the prior space. Should be plenty of room in K. If the ship has sailed on getting enough volunteers for a 3rd dungeon this year, maybe the spare space could be used to being a version of the tavern back?.

I missed out on Tavern, and would LOVE to see it return, if not this year then someday. Sounds like it was a fun add-on.

Agreed that seeing the Tavern would be awesome. I was so busy in the years they had it when I was there that I never really did more than just peek in.

Tavern would be a great place for us to hand out all our used consumables to new players.

Great to see official details, and I am very much looking forward to gaming in person. :) The location should be closer to other events so it will likely make getting to a run easier.

I remember the tavern being there for a few years. I never really knew why it was there and i never saw anyone iin it. If it is brought back I think it needs to be open to everyone.

the tavern was easier when we were in the hotel. the hotel staff would get into costume and have a bar with adult drinks and sometimes snacks. folks could set up at a table to do trading. the coaching area was right beside/inside the tavern which could make it rough for coaches.

I know that Paizo, one of the larger exhibitors in the dealer hall, won't be attending. That, combined with TD getting space in what is usually the dealer hall, would lead me to believe the hall will be smaller than the last few cons.

I wonder what will be in sagamore.

if I recall, there were restrooms in the exhibition hall at the corner close to the skywalk but not outside the exhibition hall.

One idea for a TD Tavern would be to convince one of the local restaurants to do themed evenings (or even just 1.) The restaurant that replaced the Ram comes to mind. Steve Jackson Games used to do that with one of the restaurants, converting it to “Munchkin Tavern” for the evenings complete with altered menus, etc..

I’m sure SJG paid a sponsorship fee to do that and with funds tight due to the lack of Cons that TD might not be able to afford it. Perhaps it could be something funded via a kickstarter?

If it were a win win I would say go for it. I don’t know how much True Dungeon needs to advertise at GenCon though. This might be an idea for Pax or that con in Atlanta were runs don’t always sell out so long as the two are close.

As a group that likely rents out a sizable section of a hotel at any con, I’d approach that hotel and see if they’d “tavernize” their brunch place to get those at the hotel into the mindset before trying to advertise where money is not already being spent. Ideally to provide some advertisement to others staying at the hotel. I know a free 10 pack to everyone that stays at the “True dungeon tavern” might be a bit excessive and without knowing where to expect it the community outside the volunteers might miss out. I think the JW had a magic card pack one year for every room, or was it some other themed item?
