The new 8k Multi year looks amazing. It would be awesome to honor a lost pet or current with a token. I may have teared up a lil bit thinking of the one I would have made. That being said, I'd want to make sure it was always in my build so it would have to be strong enough to take over the +1 level stacker or have another way of getting the +1 level to stack with the rest which might devalue the 3 year treasure token chaser.

Instead on making 6th level characters, why not have that token give access to the 5th level subclasses? I think only the Rod of 7 Parts and Skull of Cavadar can do that and no new players have reliable access to those.

And you pulled the rug out from under the last 8k transmute and weakened it so badly it isn't even remotely worth going after.. How can we trust you won't do that again after we've invested thousands of dollars?

I don't understand this statement. How did a rug get pulled out from you, and how did the last 8K transmute get weakened? I don't recall stuff being changed on the Mark? My memory is bad but I don't remember any big switch up on the Mark.

Pretty sure everyone would rather have 6th level than the subclasses, as for the most part, the current classes tend to be better than the subclasses.

I hadn't fully read the Familiar description - wow! That actually makes me want to think about getting one, it would be awesome to have a token representing one of my cats to play along with me. What a wonderful idea! I'm pretty sure I won't be getting one due to the cost, but you'll make a lot of people very happy who do get one.

But will we have lvl 6 subclasses?

Also for 6th level, will this new familiar be the only current way to get it? Or will the Arcanum and Eldritch level boosts stack and allow us to get to 6th level that way?

If there is a 6th Level, I would love for the Eldritch and Arcanum Levels to stack to get it.

If sixth level characters are generally planned, I'd like to throw out the idea that there is a progression for character leveling:
4th -> 5th level requires one level bonus
5th -> 6th level requires three level bonuses (1 + 2)
6th -> 7th could eventually require six level bonuses (1 + 2 + 3)

This could make the homunuculus give "+1 level bonus" twice which would achieve the same result, but gives some flexibility:
  • Level bonuses from older heroism items matter
  • Past/future set bonuses which give levels will matter
  • Might give some design room to do interesting things with future level ups (e.g. using a number of level ups to give access to sub-classes or new Saga skills)

I should also say that I love having a multi-year chaser and the concept of familiars!

I don't think the Bead of Blending will be effective as a multi-year transmute. Almost every class is expected to attack, so this token is mainly for Bards and Clerics. It's great for them, but they already have access to the effect in Cloak of Blending. It would be a cool 5* relic, but not worth the investment of a multi-year.

My suggestion for a new effect, pulled out of the air, is to negate one attack on the player and redirect damage to the monster, up to a limit (say, 15 points). It would count as retribution damage of the same type of the attack.

It wouldn't stack with other retribution damage because the attack is negated, but could be used sometimes when retribution couldn't, like to negate a ranged attack.

Big +1 to this. I like the idea of "level points" and it has a ton of design space to play with. (feats?!? specializations?!? :o)
