I don't like that the Arcanum Hagstone will require a Bead of Blending.

It won't, its by column not row. So its 3 hagsontes that are out of 2K+ plus orders.

The treasure guide mentions using the bead in the hagstone recipe, which, I guess is ine way of making sure people make the bead...

Scott Kwiker wrote: Hi Jeff,

First off—this is a fantastic lineup. I really appreciate seeing the full 2027–2029 roadmap laid out this clearly. The theming is strong, the progression makes sense, and it’s great to know what’s coming far enough in advance to let players plan. Overall, this is exciting stuff.

I had a chance to read the page carefully and wanted to offer some specific feedback, mostly around tuning incentives and making sure these high-value, multi-year tokens feel independently exciting without forcing “all-or-nothing” collection behavior.

1. Bead of Blending
I agree with others that the bead slot is extremely competitive, and in its current form the Bead of Blending feels a bit underwhelming—except perhaps for Bards and Clerics.

One idea I really like would be to lean into a Book of Displacement–style effect, where a monster has a 50% miss chance. That would immediately make the bead feel exciting and worthy of the slot.

Alternatively, adding an AC benefit could also help elevate it, but the miss-chance concept feels especially on-theme and impactful.

2. Ioun Stone / Components
No notes here—these look awesome as-is. Really nice work.

3. Hagstone Lineup
I really like the Hagstone progression overall. (One strong recommendation which I think you’re already doing: I would not make the components Arcanum tokens per se).

Access to an additional Arcanum token slot/effect would be enough incentive on its own to justify the transmute, without undermining the value of the components. I might add a benefit that
someone with the Arcanum set bonus including the Hagstone can get 6th LV.

4. Chasers
Love the concept. Since these are Legendary-tier rewards and 40-item chases are a real commitment, I wonder if there’s room to make each individual Chaser component more rewarding on its own.

One idea: have each component be slotless and grant something like +2 to a core stat (STR, DEX, or CON). That way, players have a meaningful interim benefit and a reason to chase one without feeling obligated to complete all three sets. It makes the journey feel rewarding, not just the destination.

5. Void Charm
Awesome. No suggestions here—this one really sings.

6. Codex / Patron Tokens
+1 to the idea that each Codex be slotless and grant access to a cool, independent power. Given the $1,000+ price point these tokens often hit, they should feel amazing even on their own, without overly penalizing players who can’t complete the full set.

Related note: we’re already seeing this year that Patron token prices are dropping sharply because there simply aren’t enough components from prior years in circulation. Anything that helps preserve independent value here seems healthy for the ecosystem.

Regarding 6th Level Access
Yes, please. I think there’s real design space here—especially if equipping multiple +1 items could unlock feats.

I’d also strongly consider allowing the Arcanum set bonus to grant access to 6th level (perhaps in conjunction with a Hagstone, or a minimum number of Arcanum relics equipped). That would create a second viable path to 6th level in 2029, rather than making the Homunculus feel like the only option.

Overall, I think this is a wonderful roadmap. My main theme for feedback is simply this: make the valuable multi-year tokens independently exciting and worth owning, without requiring players to fully commit to every year or feel forced to cash out if circumstances change.

Thanks again for sharing this—it’s great to see where things are headed.

Thanks for your considered thoughts. I am going to add some power to the Grimoires and the Codexes. Also, I think we will have a substituted for both the 3 different Grimoires and the 3 different Codexes. In both cases, you can also turn in any four of the Grimoires (to replace the 3 different ones) or any four of the Codexes (to replace the 3 different ones). There will be other tokens in the recipes, but the "All 3" and "Any 4" swap will be at the top of the list.

Mike Steele wrote: Jeff, the notes say this:

a chance to make a Relic. Time for 6th level!

You're making a Legendary, not a Relic, correct?

The second Chaser set transmutes into a Relic -- much like the Stalker Relics.

Also not a fan of the bead. Seems weak as is with no stat bonuses like the pieces that make it. Also hate that it’s needed to make the arcanum multi year since it’s just an extra step to make an already expensive token compared to the other pieces of the set.

An idea for either a one the Grimoires or one of the Codexes

Reuse an ability that has already been used this game.

That would open up an already used spell, Figurine of power, or physic power.
