TOPIC: Having to fire an Employee

Having to fire an Employee 18 years 7 months ago #13

Or do as Cheers taught us. If you start crying as you're firing them, because it's so hard for you to do, they'll feel sorry for you, and they'll be comforting you by the time they leave to go clean out their office.

Been there, done that, not fun.

On a brighter note I start my new job on Monday. Office Manager for a real estate conversion company. Quite a step up from slinging bagels.

Fantastic Jenn, but what are they going to think when a fireplace shows up for the office and a hunk of cheese is on the mantle?

Congradulations.

Cool. It must be the time of year for good new jobs.

Seems like it. We are losing a lot of people to other businesses, and thus we are hiring like crazy as well.

Congrats on the new job, Jenn! That is indeed a step up from bagels. My question is did you cite your experience in running and managing a fantasy tavern? I'm sure that's what cinched the job for you. After all, how many people can claim that?
