Thanks for the more data points. Yeah 50% was a very conservative estimate. I know its high i'd be willing to say as high as %80 possibly more.

500 regular spins does top the record i have for worst luck, so sorry. Just know there are others eating up your luck getting 3 in only 150 spins. not me though...

Ironically i've noticed the people that are getting lucky can't actually use the stones they get.

That's terrible. And even if that's true, I'm rolling under the curve: I've spun a bit over 500 pokestops since the update, and only yesterday got my first random evolution item from a pokestop.

I did, however, get one from the 7th day spin, as did all (six) of the other folks I play with. So my guess is that the odds on that are higher than 50%

It's gonna take a long time to get those special evolutions, though, with only 1 semi-guaranteed evo item per week.

What better way to guarantee people play every day?

For what it's worth, the Lapras nerf was merely a delayed change from back when Niantic rebalanced how CP was calculated a few months ago. Niantic didn't change Lapras at the time because it was in the middle of the Lapras fundraising event in Japan. So basically, we got to enjoy our overpowered Lapras for a few months, but the piper finally collected payment.

It makes the Lapras feel less singled-out. And I can appreciate the reasons behind it. (Even tho I'm still sad my Lapras lost 300 CP mere days after I got him.)

Well i can still be mad. The poor guy didn't have it coming. He shouldn't have been set for nerf in the first place.
1. he is extremely rare even with the event in place for a limited population.
2. he was not unbalanced. Good yes but not amazingly broken like the vaporeon once was.
3. his CP is now SO low he won't even make the cut in gyms.

He is now no better than a Jynx, which have a baby version, and are FAR more common.

1050 pokestops spins and no item from 7 day streak. RIP

We have at least one unabashed spoofer on the main Indy Pokemon Go page. He has already caught 70 different Gen 2 Pokemon, and has even posted that he would be happy to show other people how to exploit the game

His uppance will come.

I wonder if I could hasten that uppance if I offered a tuppence?

Report him, seriously. Use the ingame report and link to where this was posted or attach a screen shot of it. They will need to know his character name if you know it.

Yeah i've heard of some unlucky folks not getting their 7th so I know the 7th day spin isn't 100% reports are from 75-80% somewhere in there.

as to the 1050 spins with no luck, that's amazingly bad.
One thing we DO know is that not all stops are made equal. So if a large portion of these came from a single stop it might be time to spin some different stops.

For example, if you worked withing spinning distance of 2 stops and worked a full 8hr day and clicked both stops every 5 minuets you'd hit 192 spins per shift so you'd be at 960 spins in your first work week. If by that time you don't have a single Evolve stone you're probably determined those 2 stops suck and you should try and spin different ones.

I had a theory that the 10 different stop bonus would have a higher chance to drop an evolve stone but it was just a dream i guess.
