As much as I love auction drafts, this is probably too rich for my blood. I'll be keeping an eye on this for sure, though, and who knows? Maybe I'll find a hundred bucks in my couch cushions.

Hey Mike, just came across this thread, I'd be interested in trying this out. ("Trying this out": very familiar with both auction and PPR, not sure I would regularly play in this league as I generally like to minimize fantasy sports lest they dominate my life.)

Two questions on prizes:
1. In the non-GT scenario, if the overall winner is also the pts leader and a division winner, they theoretically could claim 5 of the 7 available points, correct? I'm ok with this but wanted to clarify.

2. I don't know what the signed modules go for, but I wonder if some players would prefer non-UR tokens to the modules?

Finally, were you suggesting that we meet up at GC just to meet each other, or to actually do the auction? I love live drafts/auctions, but I imagine coordinating schedules will be a bear. Not that it hurts to at least give it a shot.

I think the presumption is that the person who wins the "toilet bowl' will end up with the modules.

On point one, yes you could conceivably win 5 of the 7 points.

One point two, they will as Wade said presumably go to the toilet bowl winner

One the finally, we will not be holding the draft at Gen Con. A meeting yes, could we be giving out the last year's prizes (not this year since there are no prizes yet)? Sure. But doing a live draft at Gen Con would be a bad idea in more ways than I could count.

Ok let’s try this again. This is for the fantasy football league I am going to try to get going.
League type PPR Auction

What is PPR? Points per reception

What is an Auction draft? You bid on players with a 200 dollar salary cap against the players in your league. If you bid the highest for a player, you get them. Also you cannot bid more than the money you currently have. So if you only have 5 dollars left and 3 spots on your roster to fill, your highest bid will be 3 dollars because you need to leave at least 1 dollar to bid on your other two spots.

When are we meeting? At Gen Con. When TBD.

Cost of entry: For a 8 team league it would be 125 per owner. 10 team league 100 per owner. 12 team 85 per team. This will be used to buy a condensed $1000 dollar pack. Payment for the league is due before the draft, preferably one week prior.

Prizes
The format I am thinking of using is this (assuming 10 teams)

5 teams per division
13 regular season games
top 6 are super bowl playoff teams
bottom 4 are toilet bowl teams

super bowl playoffs 3 weeks with division winners getting a first round bye, single elimination.
toilet bowl is round robin.

Winnings, this is if we go 100 dollars per team and 10 teams in, also assuming no golden ticket and condensed pack.

Tooth of Cavadar=1pt
URs=1pt each
Both Modules combined=1pt

Winnings taken in order...
Super bowl winner gets 3 points to spend as above
Division winners get 1 point to spend (the number 1 seed picks first, then the number 2 seed)
Points title (most points scored in regular season) 1 one point
Toilet Bowl winner 1 point

Then ever week of the regular season, whichever fantasy team scores the most points that week will get a package of tokens from the other tokens we have. I would say a package like this

9 random rares
18 random uncommons
and 3 random draws from the combined healing potions, trade items and Gold Pieces.

I could either have my kids draw them out of a hat and send these when I get them from TD or bring these to the next gen con for each coach to pull themselves at the next league meeting.

IF we happen to pull a golden ticket the super bowl winner gets it, but forgoes all other tokens won. If that is the case the distribution would be

Super Bowl GOLDEN TICKET
Division winners get 2 pts to spend, again #1 seed gets first choice
Points title gets 2 pts to spend
Toilet Bowl winner gets 1 point

Under this scenario, if the Super Bowl winner was ALSO a division winner and/or the points title winner we will put the left over URs back into the rare bag to be drawn randomly for the weekly winners.

Also if we happen to get the extra UR (20% chance) it goes into the rares bag to be picked randomly.

This is my idea for doing it and is as fair as I can think to do it, if there are any obvious holes that I have missed let me know. If you want your tokens at gen con they would be free to pickup at the league meeting for the next season, if you would like them right away I would be able to ship them, but would need the receiver to pick up the shipping cost

So, as of now we have 8 players. If this remains and everyone here does indeed play it will be an 8 team league with a league fee of 125 per coach.
