I am beyond sad. I never had the pleasure of running with him, but did coach with him a long time. I enjoyed talking history and music with him, and always looked forward to seeing him at GenCon. It will not be the same.

I am so sad to hear that. Condolences to the family. I came across him many times over the years as well.

Druegar changed his pic to a memorial pic. Graven has a pic in his TD True Portraits. Maybe someone can post that.

This is heart breaking news - condolences to his family and friends. He was a pleasure to talk with in the coaching rooms and a great guy all around.

Condolences to the family.

John was always a pleasure to just be around with a quiet lets get this done competency that impressed me as he led by example when it came to his role. Glad that the last con i had the virtue to volunteer in person at was with him.

He will be missed, see you in the great beyond some day John.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

It may not be the best picture, but that's him in my current avatar.

Mike Coon wrote: I know I have run into Harlax/John but I cannot recall his face, this saddens me. But this is a hard loss for the community, no doubt.

It would be nice to maybe make commemorative tokens for these strong members of our great community when they pass. Maybe Jeff can come up with something each year to commemorate whom we have lost, so we can run with them again, and their totem or figurine can run with others!

This does happen quite a bit. You can see all of them through the tokendb, Twolf's helm is one, Ray's ring of remembrance is one. Figurine of Power: Chipped Bulls is one.

Though it does not happen with every TD member we have lost.
