TOPIC: Ice Storm

I see Kithren and Smakdown are online.  I assume that means you at least have power.  <br /><br />I hope everyone on the board in the storm path is doing ok.  While cold in Minnesota is not fun, ice storms are worse.  It is not often that you can be glad to be in Minnesota in February!<br /><br />

In the scheme of things Bowling Green, Kentucky got pretty fortunate compared with the rest of the state.  My husband and I never lost power in our home.  The county schools here were out for 4 days and the city schools were out 2 days.  There are counties nearby that are being told that they'll be 6 to 8 weeks without power in a lot of places.  My mom lives in Louisville which got hit pretty hard.  She had to stay in a hotel for four days.  She's very glad to be back home.<br /><br />Kim

the storm wasn't much fun. i got lucky....kinda? i lost power for 5-6 hours and then off and on for the next couple of days. never more than an hour in one stretch. so that was good. the bad was i had to cover overtime for the folks that couldn't make it to work.

Weather is certainly not an issue here in SoCal, but I remember storms like that from growing up in MA.  Good luck to everyone hit by the storms!<br />

we may have to worry about weather, but at least we don't have to worry about the ground falling.
