TOPIC: Er...Would you believe these are the 3 Artifacts?

This could in effect kill the entire party. You may want to put a ruling in that if all the party members lose a level and the loss of the three hit points brings them to 0 or less, they are a 1 HP instead.  This at least lets them have one last chance to save themselves.<br /><br />BTW still want to know if the blessed cloak's +3 stacks with any other cloak saving throw pluses.

<br /><br />I dunno. It is kind of a cool side effect of Smak's charm that if he dies there is a potential to die because of his loss. It is a charm of camaraderie after all.

Also, now the Gary's cloak stacks with the other save boosters, I'm even more glad he won my extra Golden Ticket.

So the three downsides are:<br /><br />Undead blows up the cleric (if you encounter any undead)<br /><br />Take extra damage in every room someone takes damage (from puzzle and combat?)<br /><br />Pay gold at the beginning of the run. (200 gold ruby ring?)<br /><br /><br />It seems to me like smakdown's appears to be the most deadly and costly by far, no?

It says Smak would take half the damage from the first monster attack that hits someone in his party.  I assume that is per combat, so only once per combat.  Not too bad.

<br /><br />I'd also still say Smak's is the most powerful, as well. The downside can even be a bonus in the right circumstance.

So it's only the first hit? Not for the entire room?

<br />Oh, sorry.  Yes.  The +3 effect is from the wearer, so the other character can wear any cloak they want and get the effects.  So a player could get +3 to saves from the Blessed Cloak and +3 to saves from this Dougal Cloak.<br />

It sounds like Smak's disadvantage might be bigger in a room like the Stirge room, with multiple monsters attacking. Would he take half damage from the first hit on the party each monster makes?

Only the first damage taken, regardless of monsters in the room or number of attacks against the party.<br /><br />Each item is incredibly powerful in its own right.  What I really like though is that Widseth along with his lute can do 3 different things a round.  =)
