Good point. I'll evaluate how best to add this for next year's file, although your suggestion is definitely one viable method. Make sure you copy down any formulas for the new row you add or it may not get added to the drop down properly.

However, I would also like to see an option called maybe "Golden Ticket" which gives you 5th-level but none of the Ro7P stat boosts.

Alternatively, there could be another version of the file specifically for sub-classes. It would be an exact copy of the standard versions, with the following exceptions:

• All characters are 5th-level
• Defenders get the automatic AC boost if equipping a shield
• Drunken Masters add +3 to party initiative

If you want to have a single file, then perhaps add the sub-class versions of the characters as additional tabs or just put a checkbox on the standard version of the character to indicate a sub-class is being played (which changes the display name for that character on the party card to alert the coach) and requires the Ro7P to be equipped.

But whatever "free" 5th-level method is used, I hope there's a very obvious indicator the user has included a "free" level boost to reduce scammers.

It is probably addressed elsewhere - but what are the advantages and disadvantages of using this character / party card generator versus the one linked to on the website? I've been using that one, should I maybe be using this one instead? Is one more accurate than the other?

The one on the site has a few character altering bugs currently. For Monk and Rangers it adds the +Hit bonus from both weapons together, rather than using the greater of the two. The stats for the level 5 Monk (and possibly other classes) are wrong.

That and the site can be slow sometimes, while the Excel sheet is on your local computer.

I originally did not plan to implement the sub classes because we were originally told there would be no stat changes, only flavor.

To your point, there are a couple things that do affect the stats. I don't want to implement entire new sheets for each sub class. I'll evaluate either a Special selection or a check box to see which works better.

I was not aware that Golden Ticket runs were automatically at 5th level (haven't lucked into one in several years). If that is automatic, I can add "Golden Ticket" as a Special slot token that gives the level increase effect.

In my case the online tool gets my stats wrong, and some of my tokens aren't available for selection there, so the Excel is much better.

In particular the online tool misses some (or all) set bonus related stats and it also doesn't get the correct bases stats for level 5 characters. There is also a iphone/ipad app that is I know some are using. I haven't been following how well that has progressed but I know some were talking about using it at GenCon. I am sticking with David's excel sheet though because I understand it and can tweak it if I really had to. It is an excellent tool and he has done a great job with it.

I use the iPhone app, and have really liked it so far. It has very few bugs - most have already been fixed - and it does the set bonuses well.

I agree that Amorgen's spreadsheet is fantastic - and if you know how to tweak it, even better! - but I would rather carry my iPhone with me, than a laptop.

True - but I already have all 10 character classes loaded into the other one with the party card ready to print, so I didn't want to duplicate effort if not necessary...

Amorgen's sheet is the best, plus as you can tell from this thread it is updated all the time.

I plan to use it on my Venue 8 Pro at GenCon, you could easily use it on Ipad with Office for Ipad.

Does it actually work on Office for iPad?
