Jeff can you provide where you are getting your source that a 10x Chip go between $30 and $40? Not saying you are wrong but just looking for your data source. The last few 2022 Auction sold 3x chips at $6.75. That works out to $2.25 a pull or $22.5 for a 10x.

Another Auction 3x went for combinations of $6 and $6.25.

Another 3x went for $6.

I only looked at closed auctions and only those with Treasure Chips Draws, so it is a very small sample size.

Using ebay I only found 2 recent auctions for 10x Chips. Only worked out to be $32.92 for a 10x and the other $27. EDIT: I did fnd a third ebay auction that went for $39.99 for 10x Chip.

If we are using formum auction pricing for trade goods then should be be using auction pricing for pulls.

Obviously I have a stake in this, though I had mentioned previously I had no plan to make any maps before I don't find the value in treasure pulls to be that high. However I think I do question the generally go for $30 to $40 valuation on 10x chips.

i saw auction DWP=$0.8 each
so 20 is 16$
add 12$ for GP(if you did not get it in loose gp) or 5-10$ for bit (if you didnt have it)

you are still under 30$. These in my opinion (like 10X treasure draws should be $40+)

Chad -
Of the auctions done so far, I didn't see any non-fixed price auctions go for below $1. The average is between $1 and $1.50 for the lowest value trade good.

Jeff - I would recommend aiming at parity with the value of the 10X draws (between $30 and $40 depending on the time of year.) Let's assume $40 as the target price point.

With trade goods at $1.25 (based on current auction pricing), that is $12.50 for every 10. Monster bits are going for $7-$8 each (but should go up since we'll move into 2022 MB's from runs.) $40 would mean the following recipe:
20 trade1 =$25
2 MB's=$15

A more fair recipe would be 20 trade goods and 2 MB's - that would give almost exact parity with the 10x draw chips (a bit lower value if you ship them rather than transmute in person.) At this conversion, I'll definitely do a few maps.

Thank you Jeff. I really do think that the market will eventually balance things out.

I appreciate your listening to everyone's concerns Jeff. Personally, I'd still be good with 20 trade1 and 2 MBs. As is, I'll likely transmute these maps until I am out of MB's (so likely 40 or 50 of them.)

So what was the original recipe for the pirate's map that is now back in effect?

(Very timely topic - I played Pirate's Cove just last night!)

Per TokenDB, the once and future recipe is:

This Transmuted token required all of these items to construct:

Any combination of TEN (10) of the following Trade items:
• Alchemist’s Ink
• Alchemist’s Parchment
• Darkwood Plank
• Dwarven Steel
• Enchanter’s Munition
• Minotaur Hide
• Mystic Silk
• Philosopher’s Stone
plus ONLY ONE of the following:
Alien Goo
Basilisk Eye
Harpy Feather
Stone Guardian Chip
Wight Dust
Yeti Fang
1,000 GP Gold Bar (not 1k in “loose change”)

Just read all these posts. I think 40 TG's was too high. 20 TG's would be perfect. IMO 10 TG's is way too low.

I screwed up. I did not bother to carefully check the value of 10x Treasure Chips before setting the ingredients for the 2022 Transmute token called Pirate's Treasure Map. I relied on my poor memory, and thus screwed this thing up.

The 10x Treasure Chips go generally for around $30-$40 each, so we have to make sure that the relative value of the Pirate's Treasure Map formula is generally in that area. As it is written now, someone could turn in 10 Darkwood Planks (and a Trophy token) and get the Pirate's Treasure Map for about one-third of the relative value of a 10x Treasure Chip.

It is difficult to set a new formula for the Pirate's Treasure Map to a more "market" price listing -- as values can change based on many things, but I need to take a good guess. We are changing the formula only in one way -- increasing the amount any token you can turn into get the 10 random draws from the Treasure Pile.

We are also upping the limit of tokens that can be transmuted at once from 5 to 10 Pirate's Treasure Map tokens. We may remove this limit later in the year, but we want to make sure we have enough for everyone at the start. You will still have to redeem them in person at an in-person Con, however.

Any combination of FORTY (40) of the following Trade items:
• Alchemist's Ink
• Alchemist's Parchment
• Darkwood Plank
• Dwarven Steel
• Enchanter's Munition
• Minotaur Hide
• Mystic Silk
• Philosopher's Stone
plus ONLY ONE of the following:
• Alien Goo
• Basilisk Eye
• Harpy Feather
• Stone Guardian Chip
• Wight Dust
• Yeti Fang
• 1,000 GP Gold Bar (not 1k in "loose change")

UPDATED 6:14pm CST 11.11.21

We are going to leave the Pirate's Treasure Map formula unchanged from what was announced a few months ago except the maximum to turn in at once is going up to 10 (from 5).

I apologize. I had no idea folks were already spending real money to stock up for this the Pirate's Treasure Map, and I honestly thought I was helping some folks by keeping up the value of the 10x Treasure Chip. I thought so long as this change was made before the Pirate's Treasure Map was available, we'd be okay. I was wrong.
I am really out of touch sometimes, and it is embarrassing. Thanks for your patience and any grace you can throw my way.
