I know you were joking Douglas, like I said, funny. But do we really want to give smak such ideas? Teehee.

Bro, I must say you know you probably have a point about the paying for it now or later. *little laugh* And I will echo, I too am glad its not me making such a choice either. Although admittedly tokens aren't much of a draw to me at least, not with so few fae things. ;)
I tell you what...if you buy $5,000 worth of tokens I will make up a special unique token that would be something like an artisan token (+2 Diamond Ring of whatever)! Anyone can buy their honey a diamond ring (old hat), but here is an opportunity to buy her a one of a kind ring! Heck...we will even throw in a free wedding in the Tavern!

:occasion14:

Just because I know more about this situation...

**SMACKS SMAK ON THE HEAD**

Dude, that is a no brainer. Get the darn ring if you are being serious about this. Hell I'll fly back if you guys are doing the wedding there. Otherwise, Vegas is just a 6-8 hr trip here :D Just don't plan the wedding near Gencon or you will definitely be sorry.

Awh, But I was gonna offer if they did the wedding in the tavern that I could help decorate the cake. I took cake decorating classes for a year so I could do a three tier wedding style cake for my grandparents 50th anniversary ten years ago.
In fact, this weekend there was talk of getting rid of my cake stuff or not.

Buy the ring. It would be cool though if you had your wedding in the tavern. Think of all your TD friends that could come dressed in very cool garb.

Kim
I vote for anything with a pixie or faerie flair. =D
*Treasures faerie rings and jar of courage(has faerie dust in it)*
*proudly wears token buttons for pixie's adventure gear*

Well, in the spirit of Stone Spider Fang, Dryder Silk, and Ghoul's Tongue, how about...um...Pixie Wings as a new combo ingredient token? I wonder where they might have come from? =D

::ducks and hides::
Nah. Just add another token. 'Free wand use' token. Then when they want to use a wand but not suck a charge, just hand that over to the DM and no marking needs to be done. Even a burnt out wand would work as long as you had the free wand use token.

That could work, the collected tokens could be immediately recycled.

The more and more I think about it, the more and more I love the idea of purchasing a Wand Charge token. I've never been a big fan of using depletable items so I've never really liked Wands in True Dungeon (vs. permanent items). At least with "free wand use" tokens, I don't need to add ugly black marks to my shiny new wand tokens!

Of course this would mean that Magic Missile and Melf's Acid Arrow Wands are even more obsolete since you can recharge Lightning Bolt Wands. And the Wand of Cure Light Wounds will certainly jump in value. You may also want to limit how many recharges a person can buy at a time. Otherwise the token-rich might buy them all and then the Hardcore monsters will get quickly vaporized by an endless stream of lightning bolts.

Finally, it might make sense to only let the tokens be used if the Wand still has at least one charge left. Once the final charge is used, the wand is taken. Otherwise you'll have some people complaining that they want to keep the exhausted token (i.e. "I got screwed last adventure cause the DM took my Wand after I used the last charge. But I should have been allowed to keep it!"). And it might also be weird if even exhausted tokens still had a value (since they could be used with a recharge token).

I definitely think this is heading down the right direction. And in the future, there could even be Wondrous Item recharges (Jar of Courage and Necklace of Fireballs) and Ring Recharges (Ring of the Ram but NOT Ring of Three Wishes!).
Some very interesting ideas in the works for 2007 tokens, so keep the ideas coming and staty tuned.

I have sent a preliminary discussion list to Jeff (with my ideas) which we will pick up and talk about soon.

Here are some thoughts and ideas for additional discussion:

If you removed three of each rarity (common, rare, and VR) what would they be?

Other things to consider dropping:

- It seems redundant to have both Great Swords and Great Axes since they do essentially the same thing and can be used by the same classes (the different damage schemes is a little confusing). Maybe it would be cooler to rotate the two (one year have Great Swords, the next year have Great Axes, etc.).

- The Heavy Repeating Crossbow is pretty lousy (especially since it can only be used by Fighter/Barbarian and when was the last time you saw them focus on ranged weapons?).

- The Wand of Magic Missiles is just so much worse than the Wand of Lightning Bolts that it should follow the lead of Melf's Acid Arrow (and get dropped).

You want Melf's dropped until you find a monster that is only affected by Earth/Poison damage
i have a tough decision to make and would love to hear some comments on the quandry.

do i buy tokens for 2007? =| or should i buy an engagement ring? =(

this should get interesting.

LOL ! I can't beleive you are asking that!

My advice is to start the relationship right. Buy the ring - a nice one. And if she likes tokens, buy those second.
