That was likely a vet player gathering GP from players in exchange for useful tokens vs being a TD handled thing

You may be thinking about 2005, where there was a TD run Blacksmith Shop (armor and weapons mainly) and a Magic shop (magical items) in the Tavern where you could go before and after the adventure and trade tokens (mainly selling items or buying items for GP). I spent some time there - that was really what turned me from a very casual token buyer into buying way more tokens than I need. :)

Something like that would be AWESOME to bring back
ESPECIALLY this year with the character necklaces.

If Jeff created a GP to item conversion for a spot like that it'd be pretty easy for some vets to drop in and help out for an hour or so.

Is there something special about the necklaces? They have some nice benefits, but as rares, they seem to be appearing pretty regularly. Is there something about them that I don't know?

They likely will not be available after this year and NONE of them are currently coming out in the treasure mix as it has only 2020 uncommons and rares

Just talking about having a place for newbies to trade/spend their gp on items before their first run and Arcanist pointing out the class necklaces from this year would be something prime for them to trade for.
Cheapest Shinies available!
Find it cheaper somewhere else? Let me know and I'll beat it

The 2021 token set includes a Rare necklace for each class, ranging in awesomeness from good to BIS rare to BIS period. See them all at

Necklace of the Songbird grants a collective +10 saves across the party (+1 per party member) using just one token slot, and doesn't conflict with the class legendary. Monster Lore as a free action is icing on the cake.

Yep. So it allows + save, bardsong + attack/scroll/spell from the banjo and monster lore as a free action from necklace. One of the few ways to get song+attack+additional action for bard in one turn most other ways are UR (shield of Scholar)
