30ish recently. That's why I'm ditching Armor to bump my to hit.

Is there a final decision on CoS?

Almost makes me want to ditch the greater cloak for an amulet of the champion or some such.

With the Groups permission, I'd like to switch from Dwarf Fighter to Barbarian. It's currently unclaimed, but Picc has not chosen yet.

Since I'm using the +3 deathcleaver, my damage potential would jump significantly.

But if Picc wants to play Barbarian, it's his.

MasterED wrote: So the Cleric and I did some rough planning here. Assuming there is going to be 4 combats (could be 3 and if so we are lucky). We are going to be dealing with auto hits by the monsters.

Most characters except the two being guarded by the paladin are going to have AC around 11/12 (Monk at 17). Regardless the average to hit on Nightmare last year was 13 so figure every monster will hit almost every time. Average damage last year was about 15 (not factoring the large damage of the Beholder).

Guessing the average fight will be 4 rounds (due to lower damage output) we are talking about 60 ish points of damage. IF the monster gets two swings we are talking 120 of total room damage. The Druid and Cleric can base heal 44 points (1 for 1st level + 10 bonus) x 2 (LoDS) which means they are likely to be healing at least half the time. Couple that with the possible puzzle damage it will be close on healing spells.

This will certainly be a much closer (fair) fight unless we get all ranged. ;-)

Ed

So are you saying we should have a ranged character or two or just doing numbers?

Picc how about you do a ranged Bard as best you can and I will play a Paladin. I might forgo the mithral bracers to add a ranged weapon as well. What do you guys think? Also Raven MIGHT play a ranged rogue.

1. BC - Paladin
2. Ed - Monk (build)
3. Jim - Cleric
4. Raven - Rogue
5. Acherin - Druid
6. Kim Lindgren - Fighter
7. Kirk - Ranger (build)
8. Harlax - Barbarian
9. Aenllan -Wizard (build)
10. Picc - Bard

Barbarian

Gloves of weapon finesse
+3 Deathcleaver
Ring of Heroism
Girdle of Frost Giant Strength
Charm of synergy (if we are going that route)
Charm of Avarice
IS Silver Nugget

If we are going the CoS Route I'd swap in Amulet of the Champion.

Would you rather use Mirthal Gauntlets? Your + to hit would go down 1but damage up 2. If so I can loan you a pair.

Also I do believe we are going CoS.

Okay for my Paladin I have
+2 Boom Stick OR +2 Long Bow of the Sun OR+3 Deathcleaver OR Mithral Bracers +3
Amulet of Guarding (borrowed from MasterEd)
Byr's Anointed Redoubt Plate
Ring of Protection +4

ISSN
CoA
CoS

AC is 28 with a weapon and 31 without one.

I'm more concerned with actually hitting the final monster. Throw in Rage for room 7 and I'm good to go.

Now if there were a spare FireGiant Girdle floating around, that would be great. ;)
