International borders are closed for me until November at the earliest.

While I hope Gen Con does go ahead, I also hope the online TD events continue to run for those of us unable to make it.

I wonder if I can get someone there to do a face time run with me, I can use a virtual avatar on a run right?
any volunteers to be my Golem?

Otherwise I'll have to hold my own Gen Con in Oz and run my own version of TD.

Honestly I had been considering the same thing. Pay for a ticket, strap a gopro to some willing "avatar" and asteral project across the border wall so to speak.

With 2020's rolling over to 2021, I wonder how they can handle more pre-sales than available slots?
VIG only?

My suspicion would be they'll email to confirm people who are planning to attend and then do a random drawing if it's more than the allowed number. I'd be worried about families/groups if it comes to that. Or give everyone a system credit for the cost of their tickets and let people do the mad rush to buy.

Would that be allowed? Photos are discouraged/not allowed, so it seems like a streaming feed might be problematic as well.

No idea. I don't imagine its ever come up. So long as you weren't streaming publicly though it would basically be the same as the VTD golems so it might be worth asking (that said I would really rather be there in person).

I suspect if they ever did do it, it would be volunteers as the golems, but honestly, I think a blended party would just be a mess =x

I liked reading this:

Hospital-Grade Filters: In March of 2020, the Indiana Convention Center installed hospital-grade filtration systems and have been running the system daily. In fact, the center received NAFA's 2020 Clean Air Award for leadership and excellence in air filtration.

Even CA is talking about reopening amusement parks and sports events in April, which is encouraging.

Having politicians end mask mandate early and seeing people burning PPE is NOT encouraging.

Yeah, definitely not a good sign. I think many fail to understand that the biggest risk isn't just widespread infection--it's continued spread leading to further mutation.

Did you see anything on the cost of the upgrade? I wonder what it breaks down to on a per attendee basis. The warehouse I work at installed UV lights in the HVAC system and at conveyor collection points and it worked out to roughly $20 per employee. I feel like the installation cost is far less than the productivity loss if it does prevent people from getting sick.

Or death, death might be the biggest risk. Mutation is important reason to keep it at bay, not the biggest risk.

Well, sure, but we're kind of talking about the same thing, since mutation can lead to greater death. All part of the same circle.
