GC has stated they are still processing rollover request.

For my self, I got a decent time, but wont be booking. Personal RL issues are causing me to bow out of all conventions this year. Life sucks some times, and this year is bad personally.

For anyone stressing out about their housing portal time, mine was 3:04 pm Eastern, and I got the Hyatt Regency. There were a couple of other downtown hotel rooms left as well--Courtyard by Mariott, Embassy Suites, and the Conrad (from what I remember seeing before frantically clicking on the Hyatt). Things are definitely different this year.

Even though I'm not going, I checked out the hotels out of curiosity. At 4:20, there are still three connected hotels available, and plenty more within a few blocks. Embassy Suites is not available. For those that are going, there are still plenty of hotels left. I haven't been lucky enough to get a block room in a few years, but the prices seem quite a bit higher than I recall.

I had 5:12 EST for the portal, and figured I was out of luck. My friend who is not going got a great time, so he booked a room for me and I figured I would just pay for his badge so the reservation would stay active.

Well, I checked at 5:12, and I booked a room at the JW Marriott! Very cool!

This is going to be a very different kind of GenCon.

Yeah, we pack them into a room to cut down on costs. All any of us use it for is a place to crash and leave our purchases. I average less than 4 hours a day in the room, including sleep, though I expect this year may be a bit different.

This is totally the way to do it! There were years where I only spent like $80 on my room for the whole convention.
