I think that’s the point. The assassins crossbow should be nerfed into the ground based on its power. It doesn’t look like that is going to happen, but there is no reason to use it as a baseline for the relic and legendary progression.

I can (and probably will) make a more detailed post later, but I think the cloak should go back to legendary Shadowskin. I I’m not in love with all the successive chances to come back to life at full health.

Can someone explain to me what token collection makes the Assassins crossbow so amazing?

What are people doing that blows up the crit threat range so wide that we’d be concerned about 3x crits at the relic level. The current draft which has a 3X on the first slide (or first crit) only just seems lame but I don’t understand what tokens make it great.

This one combination of Raphael’s and 3x Crit crossbow moves Rogue to a top 3 damage dealer at the top end build levels.

Is the Ring of the Sacred Circle too good?

I do think the wording should be changed. Originally, the +2 to all Ability Scores was just an easier way of writing out: +2 to Strength, Dexterity, Wisdom, Intelligence, Charisma, and Constitution.

However, now that the +2 to Saves and +2 to AC is added, I think 1) the ring might be too good and 2) there is an easier way to say that. I say that, because now the ring does all this:

+3 to all saves
+3 to AC
+4/5 to HP depending on Character Level
+2 to intelligence
+2 to Charisma
+1 to hit in melee and ranged
+1 damage in melee

I'm just wondering if its too good. It's better than the sum of its parts.

I say either go back to the +2 to all Ability Scores, or try this:

+3 to HP, Saves, AC, and Focus

The reason I added Focus is because I think the ring of the 1st Circle might change from +1 Level to Focus just based on what people are saying in that thread.

This still makes the ring better than the sum of its parts, but with a drop in 2 points of HP, and loses the Charisma, Intelligence, and +1 to hit which those weren't really part of the original rings anyways.

I realize this still doesn't account for the -2 damage reduction in melee, but I think it makes up for it in other areas.

I asked if the plan was to have a legendary version of the crossbow in a previous thread and Jeff said that was the plan, so I am going on that premise until it is so different a token it no longer resembles assassins crossbow. As shown right now it only gives an extra 6 damage on 3x over the assassins crossbow, it’s not going to make a major impact.

Also I don’t want an extended crit range on the legendary crossbow, I just don’t want a 3x limiter.

I wasn’t clear in my last post I think.

Taking the existing assassins crossbow, making it +4 and being legendary is probably a fine ending point. From there, work backwards to relic and UR. Where exactly to land on the relic is up for debate - where it’s at now might be too good.

I don't think it's too good, I think it's an appropriate power level for a Grand Arcanum token.

I don't think it's too good, I think it's an appropriate power level for a Grand Arcanum token.

What does Grand Arcanum even mean power wise? This would be the first one. Grand Eldrich means 1 psychic power for a game and 1/ year subclass access, so if comparing against grand Eldrich, this is way way too good.

This has to be more powerful than the RoSP and Skull of Cavadar, as those are both slotless and this takes a valuable Ring slot. I think Jeff has hit a good power spot for both Arcanum tokens and hope they are locked in at this level.
