TOPIC: Starting a TD fantasy football league

I am going to wait until July sometime to see if we can't get anyone else interested. If not we will start the league as an 8 team affair and once you pay I will get you the link for the league. I was really hoping for 10 teams as the balance is better imo. Also a thought, does everyone want to do true dungeon themed team names? Like one team is the rangers, another the druids or elves ect? Might be a way to split the divisions but spell casters and sliders lol...

Sounds like a plan - I hope that as we get closer to Gencon and Football season that we can attract another 2 players. I agree that the balance is better with 10 teams.

Love the format and the set-up of the prize pool...will be nice playing for something I really WANT to win.

And I definitely think some sort of TD inspired names would be cool....not necessarily the classes per se but perhaps some variations upon the theme depending on how creative everyone feels.

Makes as much sense as any other naming system.

Glad we have so many people looking forward to this! As for the naming, it is an idea. If we go this route or not is not an issue for me, just wondering how deeply into TD we are going to make this theme.

Unless there is some other level of vetting, I believe I'll be player 9. I love TD, I love FF, and the format is fine by me. I've never done an auction draft before, so I look forward to that aspect. Can I play, can I can I?

Love the TD theme. I like more the riff off of names than actual, but will go with whatever.

Final bump before I start to solidify the league and collecting dues.

I've been on the fence about this since I'm a big fan of both of these things but a bit worried about putting this much money on a fantasy league with my luck in fantasy leagues. I did want to clarify as to when you were doing the actual draft and what the gencon meeting would entail since I saw in another post that you weren't planning on doing the draft at gencon(which I agree with).

The meeting will be at Gen Con, the draft will be some time afterwards using the online auction via espn.

Is the gencon meeting just a short get to know the competition thing or do you have something planned this year since I saw you may do the random token distribution at future meeting? Either way I'll think about joining to make it a even 10 and let you know soon.

This year it is going to be a short session. So that everyone can get to know one another, or at least a good portion of the league. Also will be a Q/A session that if anyone has any questions they have the chance to answer them real time.

In subsequent years we are going to hold the meeting to divide up the winnings from the previous year as well.

If you are willing to join just let me know and I can get the ball rolling for all the organization and get us moving forward.
