This is incredibly insightful.

We should definitely take an opportunity to assess our previous practices and determine if they should or should not resume.

Handshakes maybe should be a thing of the past, as an example.

Fist-bumps are cooler anyway!

They so are not. You might as well high five someone that's how outdated they are now. And not because of COVID-19.

I've always been a fan of the forearm bump. A little pain involved which just shows your manliness.

But I do like the idea of the Vulcan thing or just a: "May the Force be with you."

You're trying to tell me that high fives are outdated but Star Trek isn't... Riiight.

Star Trek currently has two series in production. Star Trek Online is a thing. People still play Star Fleet Battles.

Yes, it’s still a thing.

We had a blast playing Star Fleet Battles probably 30 years ago, I'm sure I've still got the game. I didn't realize it was still being played.

Star Trek has some great series on CBSAllAccess right now. Picard was really good, as is Discovery (I'm nearly done with Season 2). I'm hoping that they can continue the Theatrical movies as well, but that seems to be going nowhere right now. Although I think one of the best "Star Trek" shows currently is Orville. :)

Picard was good; though, felt more like a mini-series/long movie than a show. Discovery has some really good stuff, but also kinda awkward and distracting at times. Glad we can watch it with the free month of CBS, but definitely won't keep the subscription.

Also, where do you watch Orville? I suppose I could buy the DVDs.

This post was about San Diego Comic Con being cancelled. Not about the virus and how it could destroy your family.

No one here has called your comments, original or "repackaged" as "insighful" except for you. Don't put words in our mouths.

We were facing this reality long ago.

I don't know why I felt the need to respond to this post so much, but I can say this. Even now, it seems you have significantly irrational fears that don't seem to be founded in reality. Now you've added an unjustified sense of "look how right I was"

I will need to do a little soul searching to see what it was about this particular post that caused me to have such a reaction.

I agree Picard moved pretty slowly at times, but it was still great to see some of those characters in action again. Discovery isn't perfect (especially how everything seems to revolve around the main character), but it's actually better than I'd expected. My big hope is that Star Trek brings back Shatner as Kirk before it's too late, but I know that's a longshot at best.

I saw the original episodes as they aired on Fox. I probably won't be able to watch the new season on Hulu once it starts airing there, as I don't have a Hulu subscription.

I think at least most of us even back then knew that it was possible that GENCON would be cancelled or postponed, but were willing (as I think most of us are now) to wait to see what happens. If holding GENCON as scheduled turns out to be possible from both a health and logistics perspective, that's great. If it needs to be postponed or cancelled that's totally understandable also. Even if cancelled or postponed, the conventions will return when possible, and True Dungeon will be ready to go when that happens. :)

Ditto on The Orville. The most recent season was great. I think it is on Hulu.

Oh Gawds!! What trusting fool unbanned you?!?

You were an idiot a few weeks ago and you are still proving you're an idiot.

Why don't you spend the isolation time seeing a qualified psychiatrist??

I'm actually betting you are a fake secondary profile and you are just trying to see how badly you can stir everyone up. Which is pretty sad because stirring people up on the Internet is like shooting fish in a barrel with no water.

**** EDIT - FOLLOW-UP ****

Someone PM'd me and brought something to my attention, Arthur...

You have no Level attached to your profile. That tells me you never enter your XP from doing TD adventures. From your previous posts you come across as someone who is not new and has done adventures before. That also means you would enter your XPs. You're not. Why would you have an active account here if you are so casual a player and don't enter your XPs?!?

I stand by my hypothesis that this is a fake secondary account made just to be an anonymous jerk.

I also have been noticing that you never single me out in one of your insane rants. Even though I do call you on your bulls#!t. Everyone else that has said stuff to you you quote them, etc. You have never done that to me. That makes me think you know me in real life. And you know if it's ever revealed who you really are you know I'll call you on your crap in real life and embarrass you everywhere you go.

Dave wrote: I definitely think handshakes should be a thing of the past. it's probably a topic for another thread, but if and when True Dungeon is available again, will any temporary changes be needed (assuming its available before we have a vaccine).

I'm sure the powers that be are already having these types of conversations, but it wouldn't be unlike this group to offer their suggestions. For example, do you insert more bubble breaks to allow people to wipe down any props with sanitizer? Do they require participants to wear face masks? Do they reduce group size back to 8 to allow people to spread out just a little more in the rooms? Do they spread out the run start times a little so there's less congestion at registration and at epilog? I know some of these suggestions reduce the money TD would make, but it would be temporary and as long as they can offset variable costs, it would make a positive contribution to their bottom line. Besides, keeping TD active and in people's minds will also help drive token sales. Just a few thoughts that have surfaced during all this extra time. Anything that gives us opportunity to play is positive in my mind.

Anyway, I trust they'll make the right decisions and when things do pick up again, I will be there.

Absolutely not. It is sad that people will use this to erode even more of our basic connections to our fellow man. Handshakes forever! You have immune systems for a reason people.

please. lets stop with the attacks AND tooting of horns.

Arthur, brought up legitimate concerns and did ask some good questions, however he did so in the wrong area. then he would not let it go. our feedback started going down hill the more he posted...in the wrong arena. his questions should have been directed to the con organizers, not TD.

you can't expect a car salesman to know if Ford is going to keep its factories open when buying a new car. (maybe not the best analogy).

Let's just stop engaging, ok? If someone makes a post that you find completely off the wall and just asking for a reply, maybe just let it go.

Sometimes you need to treat adults like 3-year olds and just let them do their thing and ignore them. When they're not getting the reaction they want and crave, they may move along to something else.

Thanks!
