Fred

Dynasty league = keep all players year to year, draft rookies based on previous year results.

Keeper league: keep some number of players based on some condition.

I’ve done both - I did a 12 team keep 2 league for 3 years, and a 12 team dynasty league for 5 years. The dynasty league paid double entrance fee for toilet bowl, and half entrance fee for 9th place.

Okay peps, since this is getting a lot of questions and interest, I will post what I have right now. Be advised I a bit sleep deprived so my information might not be as coherent as I would like it to be.

The idea is this, everything is superflex and depending on the number of teams will determine the number of starters.

A lineup would start 9 players in a 10 team league, with maximum starters of
3 QBS
4 RBS
5 WRS
2 TES

Passing:
6 point passing TD
-4 point interception
-2 point interception for TD
1 point for 25 yards passing (.04/per),
2 point per 2 point conversions
-1 point per sack
-1 point per incompletion
.5 points per completion
Rushing:

6 point rushing TD
1 point for 10 yards rushing (.1/per),
2 points for 2 point conversions

Receiving:

6 point receiving
1 point for 10 yards receiving (.1/per),
2 points for 2 point conversions,

RBs .25 pt/per reception
WRs. .5 pt/per reception
TE and QBs pt/1 per reception

Returns:
6 point for any return TD
6 points if your player recovers a ball in the endzone for a TD

Standings

It wouldn't be just head to head, but also vs the league so each week you would get a chance to get 3 points towards the standings.

1 for a head to head win
1 for being in the top half of the league scoring wise
1 for being the top scorer of the week

-1 for being the lowest score of the week.

So if during week 1 you were the top scorer, you'd have 3 points in the standings.

Divisions and such would be determined by how many teams we have.

Keepers.

You can keep unlimited players from the previous season, provided they were not free agent pickups and you are willing to pay double what you paid for them the previous season.

So if I paid 12 dollars for Miles Sanders and wanted to keep him, the next season he would cost 24. The following season I could also keep him, but since I paid 24 last season I would have to spend 48. A player could be kept the next season at 96 dollars, but I find that nigh impossible. Same 200 dollar budget for buying players via auction.

You would have to declare a keeper 48 hours prior to the draft, and only could cancel said keeper if the player is found to be unexpectedly injured. I am not certain if I can just assign the players to a roster prior to the draft, but if I can while also deducting that player's cost I will do so. If I can not it will be critical for all owners to be accounted for at the beginning of the draft, so someone doesn't auto draft over a kept player's value. I will also appoint at least 1 co-comish to help with some of the tasks as well as a secondary arbiter when it comes to trades.

FA pickups will happen like they happened in our league this season, except. No covid IR, and you may bid 0 dollars on a player for pickup.

If you see anything that looks like a glaring mistake let me know, but yes I intend the QB scoring to be a bit wacky, since you could start 3 of them.

Mike,

Do you know where there is a place that would show # of interceptions returned for TD? I'm trying to setup the spreadsheet to calculate the scoring for QB's for this year. Without that part, I still think QB's are being really heavy on the points generation. You may be intending that since it is superflex but I just wanted to point it out. (For interest sake, moving passing TD from 6 pts to 4 pts removes most of the over generation by QB's)

QB's
New Scoring Old Scoring
421.8 386.8 Allen
407.4 384.4 Mahomes
381.46 379.96 Murray
443.76 357.26 Rodgers
370.52 343.52 Watson
368.64 314.64 Wilson

RB's
New Scoring Old Scoring
315.55 377.8 kamara
304.8 342.8 cook
283.85 308.1 henry
213.65 250.4 robinson
208.15 240.4 jones

WR's

New Scoring Old Scoring
287.3 341.8 Adams
285.4 333.96 Hill
254 314 Diggs
224.8 280.3 Hopkins
229.9 270.9 Ridley

the intent is to reward good QBs and punish worse QBs. Since probably every starting QB will be taken, I would be interested in what the bottom 10 starting QBs look like in comparison.

I probably should have just made a blanket -4 for a turnover (fumble lost, int)

Do you think I should add maybe a point per first down for the rushing and receiving to balance it more?

I like the idea of rewarding 1st downs - it is a significant tactic in the game. I also feel QBs are
OP, but haven’t looked at stats yet.

I would support -4 for any turnover. 4th down conversion may also be something to consider if it can be tracked.

Biggest question is certainly automated tracking. Don’t want to have to do anything manual.

For wacky rules, how about 2ppr for TEs - that would even out TEs with other positions a bit after the first 3 or so.

I am not sure they are punishing starting QB's as much as you would like. I grabbed 5 QB's that I know played every game this year but people who were borderline rostered.

Ben I have held onto all year and that did not end up well
Ryan - Cary drafted and I think actually started him a couple of games
Carr - FA until the end of the year
Goff - Was a waiver wire add by Melissa for a week
Rivers - Drafted but dropped by Tim after 2 weeks

Note: Numbers are with -4 points for Interceptions/Fumbles and 6 points for passing TD (I think turning this into 4 will give you more of what you are looking for)

New Scoring Old Scoring
409.8 386.8 Allen
403.4 384.4 Mahomes
373.46 379.96 Murray
439.76 357.26 Rodgers
364.52 343.52 Watson
360.64 314.64 Wilson
299.66 267.16 Big Ben
268.74 264.74 Ryan
294.18 251.18 Carr
254.98 239.98 Goff
268.1 229.6 Rivers

Changing Passing TD to 4 gives you

New Scoring Old Scoring
341.8 386.8 Allen
327.4 384.4 Mahomes
321.46 379.96 Murray
351.76 357.26 Rodgers
304.52 343.52 Watson
284.64 314.64 Wilson
231.66 267.16 Big Ben
216.74 264.74 Ryan
228.18 251.18 Carr
206.98 239.98 Goff
220.1 229.6 Rivers

I do think 1st downs would help balance out WR and RB's, I need to do the numbers for TE
