It snowed here last night, but I'm still planning on going out for a walk.

And got hit in the head with some ice from an Ent.

Another walk after tonight’s epic run, another mask discarded - that makes 13.

Another workout down, another FOUR masks picked up - gross! That makes 16!

And now it's time for second breakfast.

As the week wraps up it seems like there are two distinct groups here. One group is blazing ahead, and the other is considerably slower. I'm thinking the divide is people that have active jobs and/or are retired, and those that work more office type jobs that are working out afterwards. I'm not going to change the rules after everyone already agreed on it and paid in, but I am considering coming up with another prize that will only be for the slower group. Hardy dwarves that are mountain bred and can put up hours and hours of work each day are noble and should be rewarded. Hobbitses may have lifestyles that are considerably lazier and include more breakfasts, but they're bravely making the journey too and should have a precious at the end of it to fight for.

What are your guys thoughts?

Sounds fine to me, but the question would be how to define the two groups. Maybe ask everyone to self identify as a dwarf/ hobbit versus an elf/ranger? Or top finisher who did not make it halfway when the winner reached Mount Doom?

I think the split should be anyone who makes it to Bree faster than Bilbo did is in the fast group, anyone who didn't is a hobbit. Bree is 85 miles and it took him 12 days to get there.

A solid objective. I guess I’m in the hobbit camp.

I'm fine with whatever you decide. Not really planning to claim any prizes either way, I'm just trying to motivate myself to get out.

I think that you should have a random prize draw for everyone that makes it to the precious by d date. The rest get eaten by goblins.

As a testimonial to how much this has helped me I went from doing my physical therapy exercises for one hour a day is the only physical activity I had, To doing those physical therapy exercises in two sessions for over an hour each each day and also going for walks when I was sitting and watching TV. Walking instead of driving. My shoulder has been all the better for it.

That's really fantastic to hear! It's the whole reason I'm doing this, the prizes don't ultimately matter. They're there to help motivate people who get motivated by prizes.
