My first interaction with TD was attending a "True Dungeon 101" session run by Raven and....someone whose name I forget. At the end, we each got to draw out of a treasure chest that had 100 tokens with a single UR in it and I pulled the Skull of Doom. I still use it a few times a year in live runs and love interacting with the DMs who often do a double-take at seeing it.

That and the forcecage puzzle during the drow year where we were handed physical ropes if you had a gear token for them and the party I was with spent the first 10 minutes or so talking about how they were going to use the props to get the key and I finally just grabbed the rope, stood on one end to hold in place and then just threw the rest of the rope in a big tangle over the key and pulled it out that way just before the horn sounded. I'm still shocked at how well it worked

One of my most memorable TD moments came from a Gameholecon True Grind.

Some backstory - I'm known among my friends for my irrational hatred of Bards (stemming from power gamer 1st Edition players). I never let it affect another player's preferences - but will always joke that a Bard less party is best.

This TD Grind - Eric had us on various quests for a local "lord" in the outer planes. In the first room I decided to talk to the "ladies" working an establishment that we were supposed to clear out - and it seemed to me that they weren't as evil as advertised. I tried with no success to stop our party from attacking the various 'evil monsters' (when protecting a Blink Dog - my friend used his Elven Chain token to tie me up - only for Eric to ask to read it. It says they undo upon command - so I simply told them to drop. Next round I was tied in the rope instead lol)

Throughout the adventure I kept resisting attacking and killing the various demons, drow, and other evil denizens that didn't seem to be doing much evil in my mind. Lo and behold the 'lord' was a Greater Demon trying to get us to do his dirty work.

The final encounter - the goddess Lady of (Death? I can't remember which) - opened the portal back to the prime plane. She allowed me and the wizard who had pretty much joined me in protesting the mindless violence to pass through. Most of the rest of the group were judged unworthy and had to fight for their lives (she's a goddess - no on survived). The Bard decided to ask for mercy as she had been about 50/50 - and the Lady gave me the option to choose her fate due to how I had been the most 'righteous'.

As soon as my friend's saw that it was the BARD looking to me for judgement - they all turned to her and said 'we're sorry - but you have the wrong person choosing your fate'

Yes - it was thumbs down. No survivor pin for the Bard. The only time I have "killed an ally" in game.

At the time - you only got ONE treasure pull for True Grind. I went out and immediately made a pull -- the UR Moonhide Robe. I took this as the TD gods rewarding me for staying virtuous through the entire adventure - and that token always holds a special spot in my heart to this day.
