TOPIC: New to Token Auction/Quicksilver Cube

Hey all, I've got an Ioun Stone Quicksilver Cube from a few years back that I'm looking to auction off, but I've never done so before. I've done a lot of looking to see the general price they go for, but was just curious the best avenue for auctioning. I assume it would be easier to just do so here, rather than mess with ebay, but I figured I'd ask those who have done so before.

The price on the Quicksilver Sphere recently went way up - it's been a while since a Cube traded hands with a public price on the forums or eBay as far as I know. I think $225-$350 is where it would probably go.

eBay is easy and has a slightly wider audience (there are people who buy on eBay but aren't in the forums).

Forums are also pretty easy and save you 10% eBay fees, but it's important to pick an auction format that is easy for you to administer.

One format that a bunch of successful auctions use is:

* Announced end date
* Price set by the 2nd highest bid (with the highest bidder being the winner)
* Price announced periodically as you get updates
* Optional - auction extends by a day if the price is outbid in the last 5 minutes of the auction (to discourage sniping and you being in an unmanageable situation of getting lots of bids that you can't update in time)

If you do it in the forums be sure to clarify what your shipping policy is, if you can ship to the US, Canada, etc., and if you can deliver at Gen Con as an option.

I volunteered last year and received a Cube for Fortitude. I may be interested if the price if right, let me know what you are looking for it. Love to have a second purple to match my other one.

Then I would have two cubes and would only need a glass of rum :)

The price on the Cubes/Sphere's has skyrocketed over the last year and I personally think they are over priced. But, people are paying what they are paying so now's a great time to sell.

Awesome, thanks a lot, Hayward. That's the general price I was seeing as well, so glad to know it wasn't too outdated. I'm going to start a new thread for the auction itself and get this underway!
