i volunteer at the auction, so i get a free badge. indy is within driving distance for me, so it's no big deal to get down there. as for SoCal... my brother lives in LA and his girlfriend lives in the OC, so finding a place to stay isn't too bad. no hotel life for me... i'll sleep on the couch!

Pixie will be found lurking about in the dark areas of TD in SoCal. . . buwahahahahahahaa.
Indy is too far to fly when you're only thee inches tall. Wings tire out long before I reach the CA border.

If I could get babysitting for it, I'd attend both Cons. As it is, I'm very glad I can get the grandparents to watch the kids for a week during Gen Con Indy. Maybe when the kids are older, we'll start attending both.

Going to So cal... havent been to a gen con in about mmmmm 15 years... lol.. so Im sure it will a different experiance.. but it is really the Tre Dungon that is the draw think im only going for this.. see what it is like..

Will the CA Gencon TD have the same production values as the Indy GenCon TD? That is, are the really going to haul all the props / sets / costumes / etc all the way to CA?

Last year they did.
If I remember correctly, Warren drove a truck out here to california with the stuff. And back.
Those are dedicated people. And they all worked from opening to closing.

Heading to GenCon SoCal myself. Originally was going to attend Indy, but monetary issues prevent it.

So, SoCal it is! :) Looking forward to it, actually, and hoping that I can make a decent TD run (not one of the insanely early ones).

What is insanely early?

Just asking, I don't know anymore.
I'm use to getting up at 5:30.
I use to have to get up at 2:45 am when I was a trainer at a former job.
So I've lost perspective I guess.

What is insanely early?
And don't forget you can pre-reg to get a more desired timeslot if you are really concerned about it.
Currently you can register for your Gen Con badge, but I don't know if pre-reg is open for TD yet.

I'm in the military, so I know all about early days. On my days off, however, insanely early is anytime before I want to get up! lol I'm not lazy, by any means, but my time off is my time off, y'know?

And I know all about prereg, I need to buy my badge still. I'm just hoping the late morning slots won't all be taken up. *shrugs* I'm just rambling, really. No serious complaints here.
