Is the site taking 10-30 seconds per page load for everyone, or is it just me?

Nope, not just you. Took four tries to just load, then sat here trying to reply to your thread for 60 seconds...

server load times and not being able to maintain a session log in have been a pain the last few weeks at least

I'm concerned about WYC event registration given this situation.

That must feel fast, as i wait for a long page load/refresh rate 45-60sec. Past day or so have been glacial. Wonder if this is how Brad/Raven feel as they browse the forums.

The web guy has been notified. He is on vacation, so it is taking a while to get it fixed.

Can't speak for Brad, but I've never found that being in Canada has slowed my internet connection. I can notice the difference if my computer is using wireless instead of the Cat-5 connection (I'm hard-wired, but the spawnlings sometimes unplug my cable, and then things take whole milliseconds longer to load.)

My internet connection is actually pretty fast, because I live <100 m from our local node. This is something I totally take advantage of on Event Reg day. I can usually get into the queue on the front end. I also managed to score a VIG once, with a combination of fast connection, and online-game-trained fingers.
(Back when I was playing a browser game which needed a fast connection, I was able to reliably send commands in a .050 - .150 second window.)

All that said... of late, the forums have been slower than Maple Syrup in a harsh Canadian Winter.

Thanks so much for posting this. I was starting to wonder if there was something wrong with my browser settings, even though I'm not having the same issue with other sites. Good to know it will be looked into.

I think the issue, or a related one, is back - page loads are taking more than a leisurely 10-count for me.

So it's not just me? The site is awful slow today.

For me as well.

Perhaps we should switch to Gerbils.
