The description for Ring of Frost says "successful melee weapon attacks deal +2 Cold damage."

tokendb.com/token/ring-of-frost/

Are a Monk's empty hands and/or bracers when used in Flurry of Blows considered "melee weapons"?

Amorgen's spreadsheet gives the Monk +2 cold damage with empty handed FoB, bracer weapons, and other weapons.

Gloves of the Flying Fists could be used to bypass the heated weapon effect as seen in some 2016 monsters.

/sigh another damage pool, I know it doesnt matter much given how often group battles come up but its kind of depressing given how infrequently group battles come up and how hard it is to use the MEC (hat that blocks another great hat and cutting). I dont play a wizard, but I really wish TPTB had let them have this one (AOE was kind of the last thing wizards really dominated at).

Agreed. Good for clearing a monster-heavy room. Usually only comes up in grind.

On the plus side - when the next debate about balance comes up we can ignore the now completely spurious claim that wizards are great at aoe!

Silver linings!

I understand the desire for more umph, but let's not forget that MEC + AoE does not reduce the effectiveness of the AoE.

When I pull up the +1 Mithral Long Sword the Mithral Boots is not part of the bullet points section. The Mithral Boots text is there, but it's just kind of hanging out below the last sentence in the Mithral Sextet section.

Is there any programatic API to interface with for the DB? I was hoping to potentially create a small app or service that could be used to search for items as well as create transmutation checklists.

My brief investigations into the HTML source show that opensearch 1.1 was used, do you have a link to the description xml that would need to be loaded by clients?
